Sir
In the last two years, the problem has not been one of food stocks. Lorries transport food on a regular basis to the cities of Judea, Samaria and Gaza. The main problem lies in the distribution of the food among the population. The Palestinian Authority bears the responsibility for this problem. Over the years, the territories of Judea, Samaria and Gaza have existed in symbiosis with Israel. Over a hundred thousand Palestinians found employment in Israel, and industrial zones were established in both the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and plans have been drawn up for the establishment of industrial estates adjacent to every city in the Palestinian Authority, with international funding. Palestinian traders benefited from Israeli customers, and the entertainment centers in Ramallah and Jericho prospered in an unprecedented manner.

However, Ben Russell, in his February 5commentary http://news.independent.co.uk/world/middle_east/story.jsp?story=487963 "Palestinian malnutrition at African levels under Israeli curbs, say MPs"

Fails to recognize and mention that Palestinian campaign of terrorism at the end of September 2000 hurt the Palestinian population. Industrial estates were set alight (Nitzanei Shalom, next to Tulkarm), Israeli civilians were killed simply for coming to purchase goods and services or for dining in Palestinian towns or villages. The wave of terrorism heightened Israeli fears and concerns, bringing about a rupture between the economies of Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Palestinian traders and workers have lost their livelihoods. The efforts to ease the hardship of Palestinian workers are repeatedly sabotaged as a result of the Palestinian terrorism. Even now, after 12,000 work permits have been approved for Palestinians, enabling them to work in Israel, there is little demand for these work permits. The economic and employment situation of the Palestinians will only improve, once the terrorism ends and trust is re-established between Israel and the Palestinians.

Y.

to the editor of independent
important info enclosed for you to investigate
in regards to malnutrition west bank and africa
'ration cards' that have been given out by the UN and the number is staggering. The piece stated that these ration cards are treated as CASH and bought, sold and traded for everything BUT food. When the palestenian card holder dies their card is NOT returned but sold. It also said that there are thousands too many cards in the marketplace in the wrong hands.
With the slavery in Africa STILL very much in evidence and so many children bought and kept as slaves there has to be SOMETHING that can be done.
See the info below:
A MUSLIM OWNER Did this to a CHILD!
SUDAN
This young African Sudanese was kidnapped, and enslaved by radical Muslim raiders. Subsequently, his arm was chopped off by his master for the "crime" of losing a goat. To date, the Jihad in Sudan has claimed the lives of two millionAfrican Christians and animists. Thousands of other have been enslaved, raped, and maimed. Today there is a creeping genocide that threatens the people of Southern Sudan.

I sent you the picture but your mail denied the embedded image. It is heartbreaking!

Something HAS to be done, even the blacks in this [US] country don't believe it!

Dear Editor:

[I Ignore intentionally the exaggerated description as you've put it: 'as bad as Africa', as it was handled already by others commenting to 'The Independent', but this is rather on the 'blaming game']

I was shocked in dismay how when you've 'pitied' the 'palestinians' , you've connected it so wrongly to the real victim: Israeli Innocent & their defenders.

Not one word in your article has mentioned the plight of 'palestinian' kids in (so many) vicious parents hands, indoctrinating them into the death & rationalizing-murder, glorifying baby-killing, hate & destruction, straight from the umbilical cord to Jihad,
Is this a mere 'detail'? HARDLY!

Not one paragraph about Billionaire Arafat Thieve!
Is this a mere 'detail'? HARDLY!

Of course 'malnutrition' occur when a leader is literally stealing international aid from his poor into his fat Swiss bank Wallet, be; Butcher Saddam, or Butcher Arafat.

Of course poverty will occur when all the resources are diverted to one sole industry: TERROR & It's accessories: propaganda including oiling & terrorizing-threatening media, hate 'education,' and money distribution as an encouragement to 'fallen' deliberate Homicide Genocide bombers' families.

Of course destitute will occur when instilled intentioinally & carfully by adults (no "desperate" "impulses" excuses!) aspiration in the young are only to be "like that mass murderer Jihadist".

Of course 'malnutrition' will occur when their leaders, Mullahs, teachers, parents doom them right at the cradle, Israel's hands are perfectly clean, no matter how she chooses to defends her innocent unarmed civilians, no matter how many gestures
(More so since Barak etc. moreover since giving them the opportunity of 'maybe even a gift of a never-before-State') she offers, THIS CULT is unfortunately here to stay still regardless, CRUEL VICIOUS on BOTH SIDES' POPULATION.

Regards,

SIRS;
I have some questions and suggestions regarding your recent article concerning malnutrition in the West Bank of Israel.

My first questions are about the British Lawmakers of the International Development Select Committee. Who are these British Lawmakers by name? Who selected them for this committee? What qualifies them to make a medical decision? What does alleged malnutrition have to do with asking for trade restrictions against a sovereign nation?

My second questions deal with trade by the PLO. What does the PLO manufacture? Who do they trade with? Do they export agricultural products? How large in dollars is their export/trading ventures?
I am sincere in these questions because previous to your article, I had never heard of any manufacturing, exporting, or trading by the PLO.

If, in fact, they do not actually engage in commerce with other countries then they have NOT in fact any trade to restrict, and your report is erroneous.

Now, I have some suggestions for a happy solution to the malnourishment problem....As the PLO get aid in currency for the feeding of their members, and as the members are not being sufficiently fed by the PLO, then I suggest that instead of sending inedible currency we send foodstuffs, vitamins and mineral supplements to these malnourished PLO dependents and have the food distributed equitably to individual people and families by the UN who is already present in the West Bank of Israel and who would do a splendid job of it.

Sincerely,
E. L.
U.S.A.
