Beautiful, persistent and devoted Property Custodian Ma’am Erlinda Sarmiento who has a real penchant for service here in Filamer Christian College since 1958 to present. Graduated her secretarial course in Capiz Colleges in 1957 then opted to work here in Filamer as Clerk of Administration, 1958-1961, Property Custodian in 1962-1973, Property Custodian and Acting Treasure when Ms. Winifred Stanford was on mission then remained as Property Custodian in 1985 to present. “Jack of all trades” she calls herself. She graduated her AB course major in English year 1986 here in Filamer. She served for 46 years with joy and love in her work and live contently with other siblings and relatives. I was inspired as she shared to me her words to Filamer telling, “I am so thankful of having been given the opportunity to work here in Filamer Christian College. This school has been a part of my life and has molded me to be a good person. I have lived my life serving this institution with no regrets. My 46 years of service here, have made me feel so at home. Whatever things that I have done as a contribution of my loyal service is, may it be great or small, but for me, I have served here to my very best.” She lives off the floor in doing her job very well that even her co-workers could have noticed her dedication. She is a person who balances her work and personal life.

Even for a 69-year-old Guidance Counselor Ma’am Fely Unating, her profession doesn’t come easy. Especially in dealing personal problems of other people and working hard in bringing solutions and options to solve whatever it is. She graduated Bachelor of Theology in Central Philippine University year 1964, also Bachelor of Arts in North Western Visayan College in 1972, and Bachelor of Science in Economics in Capiz Colleges year 1977, Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in Collegio De La Purisima Concepcion year 1979 and Master of Arts in Education in 1992 in that same school. She started a Pastoral Work in Altavas Baptist Church, Aklan and Kalibo Evangelical Church, Aklan since 1964-1970; in 1975-1982, she work in Filamer Christian College as a Kindergarten teacher and a high school faculty at the same time. She became the Guidance Counselor here in our school way back 1982-1992 and was retained in 1992 to present. “Ma’am is very accommodating, willing to go a second mile to the needs of others and tries to please everyone as much as possible”, according to Ma’am Araceli Cortel, FCC Guidance OIC. She loves plants and collects varieties of them. One of the things that you can notice in her, aside from being jolly, is that she sees to it that the color of her dress is the same as her accessories; she loves borloloys and jewelry having a complete set of it, a Fashionista at heart. Her 29 years of service here in Filamer Christian College have been fruitful. Her greatest contribution is focused on school promotion and counseling.

You could always see her inside the College of Nursing Office sitting on her wooden desk like a secretary. A serious type woman that sometimes you would think that she was very strict and unapproachable but she’s not. Ma’am Zenaida Divinagracia, a woman who has taken it upon herself to be a Clinical Instructor for 24 years already. She finished her nursing course at Central Philippine University year 1966, started working as a staff nurse in Ilo-ilo Mission Hospital from 1966-1971; in Ilo-ilo Doctors Hospital year 1971-1972; Capiz Emmanuel Hospital year 1972-1973, became a Clinical Instructor here in Filamer 1973-1980, tried her luck outside the country as the staff nurse of Military Hospital in Saudi Arabia year 1982-1985 and went back in Filamer to be a Clinical Instructor year 1987 to present. She was my teacher in Nutrition when I was in my second year and remembered her, not as a typical one but can be considered rare and extraordinary. A dedicated mother to Ma’am Zenitte Divinagracia-Abian who is also one of our Clinical Instructors and at the same time, our Adviser. Ma’am Lea Alayon, Dean of College Nursing would say, “Ma’am Divine is soft-spoken, kind, spiritually matured. As a mother and wife, grabe guid ka dedicated. She caters to the needs of her family.”

"Mang Roming”, as everybody knows him, is constantly seen around the campus with his broom and wheelbarrow around Filamer, sweeping the trash in every corner of the school. Mr. Ernesto Buhat Acuril tendered to retire from his job because of some anticipated health problems. Serving Filamer for about 36 years, maintaining school’s cleanliness is impressive that makes him a single person until now.
We may think that being a janitor is quite an easy job but the administration honored his effort and dedication to service. In the years 1987, 1992 and recently FCC Centennial FASA Awards, he was one of the Service Awardees. Giving the Plaque of Appreciation in grateful appreciation and recognition of the dedication and valuable service to Filamer that contributed to the school’s unprecented growth and development. As a parting message, Mang Roming want to say, “Salamat gid nga daku sa Filamer sa ma-ayo nga pagtamud, sa mga faculty and staff kag siyempre man sa mga estudyante. Nga bisan amo ini ang akon sitwasyon, ako ila gin-konsiderar kag ang pagpalangga akon gid nabatyagan. ”
