FILIPINO MONASH SOCIETY

PROPOSED CONSTITUTION
Fourth Revision, September 1996

Name:

1. The name of the organization shall be the FILIPINO MONASH SOCIETY, hereinafter refered to as "FILMON".

Aims:

1. To encourage cooperation amongst Filipinos at Monash University Clayton through social, cultural and educational activities.
2. To provide Filipinos at Monash University Clayton with opportunities for professional and social development.
3. To generate awareness and concern towards issues affecting the Filipino people in Australia and overseas, in particular the Philippines.
4. To interact with and serve the Filipino community.

Affiliation:

1. The provisions of this constitution shall be construed subject to the provisions of the constitution of the Clubs and Societies Council and anything in this constitution while conflicts with the constitution of the Clubs and Societies Council or with a standing resolution made under the constitution shall, to the extent of the conflict, be without force or effect. Where a constitution or a standing resolution of the Clubs and Societies Council makes provision for a matter or thing not otherwise provided for in this constitution, that provision shall take effect as if it were contained in this constitution.
2. FILMON is also an affiliate of the FILIPINO YOUTH AND STUDENTS ASSOCIATION OF VICTORIA, hereinafter referred to as "FYSAV". Anything in this constitution which conflicts with that of FYSAV shall be inoperative, unless it conflicts with 3.1, in which case the Clubs and Societies Constitution shall apply.
