THANKS BRO

*When Rich wrote this song, he felt burned by some of his friends who had turned their backs on him and let him down when he needed them.*

Taking a chance now
I took mine
You've got something to think about
I don't have the time
You left me hanging there
Out on a line
You've got all those other things
I've just got this one thing

Thanks a lot
Way to go bro
Thanks a lot
Way to go bro

Now that I've said this
Which I'll probably regret
Now that I've thrown this in your face
Do I have a case
Left me out nowhere
I'm out of time
You've got all those other things
I've just got this one thing
Thanks a lot
Way to go bro
Thanks a lot
Way to go bro
Thanks a lot
Way to go bro
Thanks a lot
Way to go bro
Thanks a lot
Thanks a lot
Thanks a lot
Ah thanks a lot bro
Thanks a lot bro
Ah thanks a lot bro
Thanks a lot bro

The Crow
JURRASSITOL

*Rich (and Brian) wrote this song as a way to express their annoyance with the older generations, baby boomers, and the Rod Stewarts of the world. Rich explained his focus of the song pointed at older bands and musicians who just won't give up. They felt that these musicians were suffocating the music scene and leaving no room for new bands (such as Filter at the time) to explode onto the scene.

Orignally titled Pep Talk, Rich and Brian decided to call the song Jurrassitol after combining the title ideas of Geratol and Jurrassic Park.

The video was directed by Dean Karr.*

Hey old man got something for you
Change your mind gonna make you take it
Your mistake is something you own
I'm the one who's gonna take it
Hey old man got something for you
Hey old man got a real good tip
Something's wrong and you don't know it

When will you learn
I'm not your boy
You don't look back
Why do I pick up your slack

That's just fine just leave it like that
Bust your wallet while i break my back
Stay alive with your life support
You know me I'll drink of that
Hey old man got something for you
Hey old man got a real good tip
Something's wrong and I guess you've blown it
Thanks a lot 'cuz now I own it

When will you learn
I'm not your boy
You don't look back
Why do I pick up your slack
When will you learn
I'm not your boy
You don't look back
Why do I pick up your slack

When I'm sleeping in my bed
Got your picture in my hands
God you are so truly old
Thanks a lot my future's sold

When will you learn
I'm not your boy
When will you learn
I'm not your boy
Hey old man got something for you
Hey old man got a real good tip
Hey old man got something for you
Hey old man got a real good tip

(CAN'T YOU) TRIP LIKE I DO

*Originally an instrumental piece by The Crystal Method (found on their album Vegas), Filter created the lyrics for the Spawn soundtrack.

The song was performed live by both Filter and The Crystal Method in the spring of 2000 in Europe, quite a rare sight indeed.*

I got the understanding of a four-year old
I got the peace of mind of a killer's soul
I got the rationale of a New York cop
I got the patience of a chopping block yeah

Trip like I do
Ohmygod I think it's the best
Trip like I do
Ohmygod I think it's the best

I got the acumen of a seasoned pro
I got the legacy of a billion souls
I got the world on my back and I don't seem to care
I got the comprehension of a world unaware yeah

Trip like I do
Ohmygod I think it's the best
Trip like I do
Trip like I do
Ohmygod I think it's the best
I want you to trip like I do

Can't you can't you trip like I do
Can't you can't you trip like I do
Lay down on my back I can't sleep 'cuz I'm slumming
Eyes in my teeth I can't see 'cuz I'm eating
Head full of noise I can't think 'cuz it's crushing
Back on my feet like a freight train I'm coming

Can't everybody feel like I do
Can't everybody feel like I do
Ohmygod I. . .
Can't you can't you trip like I do
Can't you can't you trip like I do

Ohmygod I. . .
Can't you trip can't you think can't you be like I do. . .
Can't you walk can't you breathe can't you trip like I do. . .
Can't you trip can't you think can't you be like I do. . .
Can't you walk can't you breathe can't you trip like I do. . .
Can't you trip can't you think can't you be like I do. . .
Can't you walk can't you breathe can't you trip like I do. . .
Can't you trip can't you think can't you be like I do. . .
Can't you walk can't you breathe can't you trip like I do. . .
Can't everybody feel like I do. . .
Can't you trip can't you think can't you be like I do . . .
Can't you walk can't you breathe can't you trip like I do. . .
Can't everybody feel like I do. . .
Can't you trip can't you think can't you be like I do . . .
Can't you walk can't you breathe can't you trip like me

ONE

*The first post-Brian release from Filter, Rich originally did not want to cover the song by Three Dog Night for the X-Files movie soundtrack mistakenly thinking it was a car jingle and that it was too pop, but after beginning production, he liked "the creepy feel" he interpreted into the song and there it sits on the CD. One isn't actually performed in the movie, although Agent Fox Mulder recites a line from it during a bar scene.

The video for One, directed by Martin Weisz, features Rich and the X-Files Cigarette Smoking Man (Cancer Man). The other members of Filter appear briefly at the beginning.*

One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
Two can be as bad as one
It's the loneliest number since the number one
No is the saddest experience you'll ever know
Yes is the saddest experience you'll ever know
'Cuz one is the loneliest number that you'll ever know
One is the loneliest number even worse than two
Yeah

It's just no good anymore since you went away
Now I spend my time just making up rhymes of yesterday
One is the loneliest number
One is the loneliest number
One is the loneliest number
Since you went away
Since you went away

One is the loneliest number
One is the loneliest number
One is the loneliest number
Since you've gone away
It's just no good anymore since you went away
Now I spend my time just making up rhymes of yesterday
One is the loneliest number
One is the loneliest number
One is the loneliest number
Since you went away
Since you went away
