*Yes, this song parallels the characters of Mutiny on the Bounty, namely Captain William Bligh and first mate Fletcher Christian and the theme of mutiny. Rich uses it as a description of some of his relationships with male friends and past co-musicians (aka Trent Reznor and Brian Liesegang). He also says it's about apologies for the loss of control of ego and behavior. Captain Bligh reflects the loss of true friendship because of the blind clash between egos, and attitudes. Rich calls the song one of adolescent screaming and confusion.*

The real story behind the song--> Rich claims to be like a sleep-walker, but calls himself a sleep-undresser. He says this song stems from an incident on an airplane when he undressed himself from the waist down while sleeping to be more comfortable. He did not do a strip tease for the crew. He did not streak gloriously through the plane.
