Welcome to Adventure 4, the original and best role-playing game, now in a very playable form for the eBookMan.
This is a direct port of the most recent version of Adventure just like you (might have) played on that old mainframe at uni when the world was fresh and young.
Because this is a text-based game and the eBookMan has limited typing capability we have put a lot of thought into menus and other aids that reduce the need for typing. For example, tapping the main screen takes you north, south, east, west (and points between) as well as up or down. There are menus for all the known verbs and nouns needed to play the game. Other than that, this is a faithful port of the original, great game.
When you think of the huge machines that we cranked up our midnight adventuring using modems from home or late nights at the computer centre - and here it all is in the palm of your hand!
This version is dedicated to the early software hackers who first inspired me to take up the challenge of Algol and Fortran II. To the pioneers of the pre-structured, pre-object-oriented, pre-internet era of explorations into software - if we see clearly now it is because we stand on their shoulders.
