Military Schools in Finland during the Continuation War Reserve NCO Training NCO Schools (Aliupseerikoulu, AUK) lasted two to four months. NCO Students were selected after one month basic training service. Conscripts could be also later ordered to (reserve) NCO School which each divisions had in their Personnel Supplement Centre (Henkilötäydennyskeskus, HTK), later Replacement Battalion (Täydennyspataljoona, Täyd.P). Reserve Lance Corporals with combat experience were usually promoted directly to the rank of a Corporal without any further training in NCO School. Only certain special NCO Schools were under
the command of Home Troops Staff. Reserve Officer Training Officer School (Upseerikoulu, UK) at Niinisalo arranged officer training for reserve NCOs. Courses are described on page Military Courses 1941 - 1944. Officer course lasted three to six months
depending on the arm. Reserve Officer Students were
ordered both from training centres and combat troops in
which case they usually (but not automatically) returned
back to their units after training. Highly experienced
and meritorious non-commissioned officer could be
promoted to reserve officer rank but this happened very
rarely. Military Schools and Courses 1941 -
