Some Cadillac gems -- on a smaller scale |
I have a lot of models (close to 4,000) -- not just Cadillacs, but virtually every make known to mankind. Here is a small sampling of some of the more unusual Cadillacs in my collection. |
This 14 inch long early 50's ambulance was made by the Pressman Toy Company. The 'playing doctor' accessories shown in the picture on the left were part of the set; I was fortunate enough to find this near-mint example with all of these original pieces included. What a great toy! |
The '49 Series 62 Sedanette shown here was the first in a series of 1/18th scale cast alloy cars done by Marty Martino in the mid-80's. Only 100 of each model were made before the mold was destroyed. This is the only example done in Dartmouth Green. The other cars in the series were a '49 Buick Roadmaster Riviera, a '38 Lincoln Zephyr convertible sedan, and a '48 Tucker. |
Here we have a factory-built store display for Monogram's 1/20th scale '56 Caddy Convertible kit. Whereas Monogram's '55 Caddys were molded in acetate plastic which tended to warp considerably, the '56 was done in styrene which did not warp at all. The store display was beautifully airbrushed and included all the figures shown here -- even the dog! I have never seen another store display that was as complete as this one. |
Yes, this really is a Cadillac! It's a 1948 Series 62 convertible custom bodied by Saoutchik of Paris. The exquisite 1/24th scale model was done by Motor City USA as a limited edition of 450 pieces. The jewel-like detailing is indescribable. I only wish I had a camera small enough to get into the interior to photograph that. This is one of the high points of my entire collection. |
I wish I had more information on this 6-inch hollow cast 1980 Seville. It has a coin slot in the rear window and the proportions are very accurate. There's no indication at all as to who the manufacturer is or where it was made. I found it at a swap meet several years ago and it cost approximately $3.00. |
