Music is just as expressive, if not even more so, than any of the other arts such as writing and...uh...art. There's this strange aura about music that just inspires you to write your own pieces to express yourself. And that's what this page is dedicated to. This page is a collection of many of the songs I've composed over the years, ready to view in midi format. Hope you enjoy!

Sequences

Collision Chaos: Medley

This medley from the Japanese version of Sonic CD is my first viable sequence, made years ago. It's not great compared to my other work, but has great sentimental value to me and is here in its unedited former glory.

Balrog

The theme of the character Balrog from Street Fighter 2 (various systems) was so catchy that I HAD to sequence it. So here it is in all its splendor (with slightly altered instruments for a more jazzy ensemble).

Healing Winds: Reprise

The original song Healing Winds by Junichi Nakatsuru (from Soul Calibur II) was already beautiful enough, but Nakatsuru's reprise of his own song was even more beautiful. Altered slightly for a more manageable ensemble.

Overworld: A Saxophone Trio

A rewrite of the classic overworld theme from Super Mario Brothers 2 for the NES. It's written for a small saxophone ensemble (and thus lacks a percussive voice) consisting of an alto, a tenor, and a baritone.

If There Were Any Other Way

A sequence of another one of Junichi Nakatsuru's songs from Soul Calibur II, dealing with the themes of friendship and betrayal. This song was difficult to sequence, but I think it turned out pretty well.

Hubris: Reprise

A sequence of yet ANOTHER of Junichi Nakatsuru's songs from Soul Calibur II. The original Hubris was already a beautiful song, and Nakatsuru's reprise of his own composition was absolutely breathtaking. A must-sequence.

The Moon

A rearrangement of the catchy tune from the Nintendo Entertainment System's Duck Tales. Rewritten for a percussion ensemble consisting of bells, marimba, vibraphone, and drum set.

Confrontation

Another piece by Junichi Nakatsuru, and possibly one of my favorite pieces of video game music in existence. I don't think I did it complete justice (but then, it's hard to), but I think it's relatively close.

Heretic, Hero

From Halo 2, this song is one of my favorite Halo themes throughout the entire series. It was originally introduced in Halo as "A Walk In the Park", but the remix from Halo 2 makes the original theme even better.

Mushroom Hill Zone

One of my favorite "jazzy" stage themes from the original Genesis Sonic games. Kept most of the instrumentation the same, but updated some of the percussion parts to make the song more dramatic.

Angel Island Zone: Act 2

The theme of Angel Island's second act (from Sonic 3), this song takes a minor approach to the melody established in the first act. Redid the percussion voices, and changed all the instruments to an Eastern instrumentation.

Remixes

Shiver Star Jazzy

A jazz-style remix of the Shiver Star theme from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards for Nintendo 64. This should be a nice expansion on an already catchy theme, or at least that was the point of the song.

Azure Lake Zone: Good Future

Inspired by the Good /Bad Future themes of each zone from the original Japanese soundtrack of Sonic CD, this is my representation of how the music of Azure Lake Zone from Sonic 3 would sound if it had a glorious destiny.

Diamond Dust Zone: Good Future

Building upon the work of my Good/Bad Future sequencing skill, I decided to update a remix I'd done years before; the Good Future version of Diamond Dust zone from Sonic 3D Blast (Genesis).

Temple Summit: Reprise

This is my personal reprise of the beautiful Temple Summit background music from KOTOR, by the talented composer Jeremy Soule. I tried to sequence it in a slow jazz style (this was the first slow jazz piece I've sequenced).

Tomorrow's Wind

"Every tomorrow brings something new." This remix of Jeremy Soule's inspiring main theme for Morrowind (Xbox, PC) strives to live up to that quote. See if you can figure it out, and hope you enjoy!

Duel of the Fates

A techno/rock version of that awesome, awesome song by John Williams we all know as Duel of the Fates. This was inspired by a techno version of the song I'd heard somewhere, but it's still different enough not to be plagiarism.

Metal Harbor

Even though I've never played the game, I've always loved the song Metal Harbor from Sonic Adventure 2. This is my own arrangement of the song, and is personally one of the best arrangements I've done to date.

Compositions

Honor: Mandalore

After finishing KOTOR II, I was so inspired by the game's excellent music that I decided to compose my own. This piece reflects the character Mandalore from the game; courageous, glorious, and seeking honor.

Curiosity: T3-M4

The next composition in my little series of KOTOR character-based music revolves around the energetic little droid named T3-M4. The looping pattern on recorder and chords from the vibraphone should represent him nicely.

Conflict: Juhani

Perhaps the most difficult piece I've done so far, from a technical standpoint. This piece attempts to capture the unstable mood swings of the character Juhani (from KOTOR), with moods of calm, angry, sad, and chaotic.

Dedication: Bao-Dur

Fourth in my Knights of the Old Republic character theme series, this composition is based on the Iridonian mechanic from the second game, Bao-Dur. It was a difficult piece to conceive, but easy to sequence.

Predator: HK-47

The wonderfully sadistic droid HK-47 is the fifth song in my series of KOTOR compositions. This theme is one of those songs that have a plot, and thus is not your average song. See if you can guess what's going on!

Mischief: Mission

The energetic and cheerful Twi'lek of KOTOR fame, Mission Vao, is the basis of my sixth piece of fan music. It's a fast-paced jazzy selection written for a small ensemble of sax, trumpet, guitar, electric bass, and drum set.

Resolve: Mira

Composition seven in my KOTOR series centers on the spirited bounty hunter from the second game, Mira. Her song is a funk piece featuring guitar and trumpet, with about the same instrumentation as the Mission piece.

Redemption

The first composition I've posted that doesn't have to do with Knights of the Old Republic. I was feeling depressed after an especially depressing week, and this song is what resulted from that depression. Hope you enjoy.

Revival: Atton

Eighth (and possibly final, since none of the KOTOR people are responding) KOTOR composition, based on the "dashing" young scoundrel Atton. The soft middle section is supposed to represent the sins of his past washing away.

Fanfare for Spring

After looking at my calendar, I noticed that it was the first day of spring, and I thought that the occasion needed some music composed in its honor. (It happened to snow the very next day, but so what?)
