My real name is Phil Abbey. I've been a 'Night Owl'
most of my life so I've adopted it as my scouting moniker. Some of you know
me but many members are new since I left Although I am now working in My scouting C.V. begins at the age of 8 when I
joined as a new Cub and has continued in one form or another until the
present time. On my last birthday I completed 50 years of membership in
Scouting. I earned the Eagle Scout Award [top award] within
the American scouting programme in 1965. I have
been a scoutmaster and an assistant in three different troops in In late 2004 I completed the Scout Wood Badge
offered by the South African Scout Association. Wood Badge is the PhD. level
of training for adult scout leaders and represents an international standard
of training excellence for scouters. I love to camp and to work with scouts and scouters. They are among the finest people on this earth.
A cold, wet rainy day in the bush with scouts and scouters
is better than the best day inside. P. Abbey – 21 December 2006 |
