10 TO 12 OCTOBER - LAS VEGAS

Weather: most bodacious and a big muggy.

Up at sparrow fart this morning to catch our flight to Las Vegas. Wow - everything is huge and bright here!! We were told that the airport foyers and lounges were filled with pokies - they were right.

We lobbed off the plane and headed to the accommodation guide where we decided on the MGM Grand (which, we found out later, is the largest hotel in the world!!). A courtesy bus picked us up from the airport and took us to the hotel.

Our three days here saw us spend and lose money (doesn't everyone here???), marvel at the brighly lit evening sights and be glad that we don't have to pay anyone's power bill!!!

Here is the foyer of the MGM Grand...

... and "the strip"...

But... for me, I just loved the "dancing fountain" at the front of Bellagio's...

... to the music by Celine Dion "My Heart Must Go On" (from the movie, "Titanic").

Kevin captured the whole thing on video. Just beautiful :)

More from the strip...

Vegas was just great - but we'd had enough so by the time our flight for New York left, we (and our holiday funds) were grateful for a respite :)
