I made this particular chess table to sell, but I liked it so much, that I decided to keep it.  The actual playing board is made of solid walnut and maple and contrasts nicely. The table structure is made of pine and stained with a walnut finish. It also has (2) small side drawers to store the chess pieces (chess pieces are not included).

I made this chess table for someone who has a trendy apartment in the city.  He had asked me to make a non-traditional piece, so this is what I came up with.  The actual playing board is made of an exotic wood called makore (dark red) and birch wood for the lighter squares. The table structure is made of poplar and stained with a beautiful maple finish. It also has a front side drawer to store the chess pieces (chess pieces are not included).
