"I am FLATTERED to say the least that there has been some talk of me playing Fletch in the K. Smith Fletch movies. Kevin, congratulations! You know how I feel about working with you. Let's do this!!
Lee in the motherfuckin' house, Fletch style!"

-Jason Lee

If one person could fill the shoes of Chevy Chase...it is Jason Lee. Now I was not a fan before I found out he might be the lead for Fletch. But after renting and watching all his movie, I am convinced. He has the crackerjack timing that Chevy has. Truth is...He looks like a young Chevy too. The first movie by Kevin Smith will be Fletch Won. In the book, by Gregory Macdonald, Fletch is much younger than the Fletch played by Chase in the two films. In the pic above of him from the movie "Kissing a Fool" he is a dead ringer for an early twenty year old Chevy. In my research of Jason Lee, I have notice a few ironic similarities between him, Chevy, and Fletch...

JASON LEE vs FLETCH

In Mallrats - Jason Lee actually says "Fletch" when referring to his girlfriend having his copy of the movie

In Dogma - Jason looks at a watch on his wrist that isn't there just like Chevy often does in Fletch

In Chasing Amy - Jason, when asked about a three-some pauses for a few seconds and says "...sure." Just like Chevy does in Fletch when asked if he'll kill Stanwyk.

In Dogma - Jason wears a white hat just like Fletch does when visiting Stanwyks parents. (pics thanks to Paulos)

In Kissing a Fool - Jason Lee's crazy "morning hair" when he is woken up by a knock on the door is very Chevy-ish

In Kissing a Fool - Jason Lee says he feels "like ten bucks." This is very similar to the Fletch line "I feel like a hundred dollars." (thanks Tom)

In Mallrats, Jason Lee (Brodie) has drugs planted on him by LaFours.  In Fletch, Fletch has drugs planted on him by the police chief.  The two situations were almost identical to the plot. (thanks to ScottyStorm2K1 and Brian )

That's all I have so far....If anyone finds anymore...please send them to me at showtime87@home.com and If I find any more I'll post the find in the news section.
