F L K International Airport on 7-27-01

Increasing demand has caused FLK to build an expansion to the A Terminal. An additional 6 jetways allows for a major increase in traffic. American Airlines and United Airlines have stepped up arrivals, and other domestic carriers have begun service. Also, some international airlines have taken notice of FLK.

There was a shortage of building materials, the contractor had to cut a few corners on the expansion to open on time. Proper materials are on order and will be installed when they arrive.
