I`ve felt the pain of love , run right straight through my hands
And I could never try to make people understand
As I lay here very motionless , with this bullet logged deep inside
Thinking of my life , thats quietly slipping by
I`ve loved . I`ve lived , and laughed , and had gave my life its all
So now because I helped a friend , I had to take this fall
If it were`t for me she`d be layig here , in this pool of blood
The ground beneath my clothes , has quickly turned to mud
My legs are full of numbness , and I cannot move my hands
I can feel my veins half empty , heart racing as fast as it can
My eyes are have since grown hazy , and now its hard too see
It`s hard to believe at age 21 , my life is now unforseen
I look and see a shadow , it`s my friend who takes my hand
Quietly I whisper " I Love You " but she don`t understand
A tear forms in my eyes , I wish she only knew
Slipping in and out of unconsiouness , my time here is comming due
I felt a drop of moisture , As it rippled doewn my face
And iI tried to sneak a glance , but my eyes had failed to trace
Gently I had felt a hand , caress my cold , cold skin
Trying To ease my pain , but , it`s a war that I can`t win
She slowly whispers "Thank You " , for saving my life and all
And you have saved my unborn , for it`s you that answers the call
"For you my friend took the bullet , and God has sealed your fate "
Silently I drew her closer , and whispered , "He will meet me at the gate "
I remember I saw her smile , then her tears fell just like rain
I felt my heart miss a beat , it must be from the pain
I felt her hand tighten , and it`s time for me to go
I don`t know where i may venture , maybe i`ll never know
As i look down at the scene , I watch her close my eyes
Trembling as she covered me , the rain fell from the skys
She gently kissed my hand , and rested it on her chin
And whispered the words "I loved you " it came from deep within
