Dusty was an angel, sent from up above,
On loan to his Mommy, to share the Father's love.
A precious little kitty, the sweetest boy was he.
For 6 short years he graced his home, and loving family.

The love he shared was priceless, his antics cute and fun,
Cuddling with his Mommy, when each day was done.
His kitty kisses were special, his heart as pure as gold,
An angel straight from heaven, and only six years old.

But one day up in heaven, a box of kittens came,
They never had a family, and not one had a name.
The Lord did ponder deeply, and wonder who to call,
He wanted the sweetest angel, the sweetest one of all.

"Where is Dusty" the Lord said, "Oh he is down on earth.
Now I remember clearly, for I was at his birth."
"I need My Special Angel, No other one will do,"
"But his family will be lonely, and brokenhearted too."

Then the Lord did ponder, once again you see,
"I must find someone special, for Dusty's family"
He searched the whole world over, to find the special one.
And then He finally saw her as he watched the setting sun.

This Kitty's name is Maggie, and perfect she will be.
She can't replace sweet Dusty, the angels all agree.
Then the Lord returned, upon His golden throne.
And softly held His arms out, and called sweet Dusty home.

Now Dusty tends the kittens who never got to know,
The love of someone special, down on earth below.
Rainbow Bridge will be his home, till his mommy steps ashore
Then they will be together, and parted never more.
