Project: Tulips |
Step 1: Make the Stem Cut #24 wire into 3. Each measures approx. 10-12cm long. Cut floral tape into 3 in width...so that the floral tape is thin. Use this thin tape to twist tightly around each wire. ( approx. 3/4 of the wire should be covered with tape) Using pliers, make a hook at the top of the wire. Repeat for each wire and make 6 in total. These are the wires for the tulips. |
Step 2: Make the tulip flower Take a small amount of the clay pack to make the flower. First, start off with making a bud. Mix the clay with a little bit of " Pink Madder" oil colour. Make a tear drop shape ball approx. 1 cm in diameter. It should measure 1cm in height. Insert this ontop of the wire which you have prepared with the hook going into the clay ball. Then, roll out the clay into a sheet form using roller between 2 plastic sheets. Cut the petals pattern. Each flower needs 3 petals. Once it is cut out, use work stick to slightly roll the sides of the petals to make it thin. Apply some craft glue on the bottom of petal before securing to the bud . Petals overlap slightly. |
Step 3: Make the leaf Cut #28 floral wire into 4 parts. Make 12 pieces. Apply glue onto half of the wire and let it dry a bit. Mix a portion of clay with " Sap Green" and " Terre Verte" colours. ( just a few daps of each colour. For a deeper coloured leaf, you can certainly add more " Terre Verte" colour. You can decide on your colour shade.) When clay is mixed thoroughly, wrap it in GladWrap. Roll out the green clay using a roller between 2 pieces of clear folder...this prevents the clay to stick to the roller. Cut out the leaf pattern. Use the Blunt workstick to roll the sides of the leaf to make it look natural. Now insert the wire into the middle of the leaf and press slightly. Using fingers, close the leaf slightly by snipping the back of the leaf. The wire should be covered by clay. Leave to dry. |
Step 4 : Colour You are now ready to colour when all your items are dried. Tulip: Colour with Pink Madder + Zinc White. The inside section of each petal, put more Zinc White colour as contrast. Leaves: Colour with Sap Green + Terre Verte. Allow 3 -4 days for colours to set & dry. You can assembled into your desired pot. Each tulip should have 2-3 leaves. One leaf assembled to each side of the stem. |

Project: Chocolates |
Chocolates ( below) |
Materials: - chocolate cup liners - empty gift box to fill chocolates - Clay - Work stick - Brown oil colours ( if you wish to know specific colours, please email me) Steps: 1) Add some brown oil colour to clay and mix thoroughly. If you wish to make " white" chocolates, please add Zinc White oil colour to clay instead. If " Dark" chocolate is desired, please ensure that you add more brown colour to give it a deeper shape. 2) Most chocolates are in a round shape. Roll a 1.0cm - 1.2cm ball of coloured clay and use fingers to press it slightly to found a flat base. You may add " squiggles" to the top of this ball if desired. Squiggles can be easily made by rolling out a long strip of clay and then attach to the ball using a bit of glue to secure. 3) Once you have made all shapes of chocolates you need, allow it to dry. Once it is dried, you may colour it slightly with oil colour to give it some gloss effect. Then, you can line them up in chocolate cup liner individually and display it in the gift box. A very simple project to complete! Have Fun !! A great gift to give to loved ones. |
