Clear Springs
Log Cabin

The log portion of the home was built in the 1850’s and even has a display of the original mortar used in the building of the cabin. Although the log cabin was home to early settlers, the past 50 plus years it has been used as a working barn. Your hosts and their family worked for three years to make the guest house the special place it is today.

History, romance, quiet and adventure are requirements when staying at this special log cabin. Arroweads dating back 5000 years have been found on the property. The log portion of the home was built in the 1850’s and even has a display of the original mortar used in the building of the cabin. The rock kitchen and bedroom were added at later dates. Your hosts added the bathroom. Although the log cabin was home to early settlers, the past 50 plus years it has been used as a working barn. Your hosts and their family worked for three years to make the guest house the special place it is today.

Behind the house is a picnic table, a swing and a chiminea with a grill. An adjoining undeveloped part of the structure has a display of antique tools. A clawfoot bathtub that really works—(cold water only) stands in the area which was used for horse stalls.

If you like to fishing bring your pole! A pond is located within walking distance of the guest house and you are welcome to try your luck at fishing. This is a working ranch, but you are welcome to walk in the fenced areas or along the road and enjoy nature at its best. Hunting season begins the first weekend in November until the middle of January—this is an important time to be very, very careful!

With the Pedernales River flowing behind this 1900s farmhouse you will find a home filled with family memorabilia and lots of family antiques. This quiet home has a lot to offer. Come relax in the living room and listen tot he soft relaxing music that awaits you when you enter. You can watch satellite TV or perhaps a move, or maybe read all about the history of the home and the family.

The large farmhouse kitchen has everything one might need when away from home. Coffee, teas, popcorn, snacks, dry cereal are just a few amenities provided. A full breakfast is left each evening so that you can bake it at your convenience the next morning. You may want to enjoy your complimentary bottle of wine on the screened back porch and watch what Mother Nature has given us.

Walk into the romantic, warm colors of the master bedroom. Designed with romance in mind, a four poster queen size bed and many antiques await you.

The second bedroom has been designed with military memorabilia from the host's great aunt's son. The room is filled with things from his war days. The room has a queen size bed with a beautiful quilt.

In the bathroom, you may want to relax in the bubble tub that massage your worries away. The warm romantic colors and décor will make you fall in love with this relaxing home. It has a hairdryer, curling iron, bubble bath and much more are provided for you and your stay.

The house has a nice fenced yard with pecan trees and a special area with a hot tub for you to relax in. At night you can sit back in the swirling water watching the stars or falling in love with your partner all over again.

There are trails for you to take a walk to the river. The host's friendly dog, Sara, will probably be your tour guide. The little one, Paris, likes to be carried. She's lazy. You might want to bring your fishing gear and a picnic lunch. You can enjoy grilling under the huge pecan tree that is about 200 years old. The tree is about fifteen and a half feet around at the smallest part of the trunk. The host's great-grandparents used to churn butter and wash clothes under this tree. Great-grandmother's wash pot and chair is still under the tree for you to view. You may want to sit on the swing under the tree and enjoy nature.

Country Quiet is just one mile from Lady Bird Park, the golf course, the fairgrounds and the airport.

The land, the home, and the memorabilia are the host's tie to the past. They would like you to enjoy it during your stay.

Any special requests are invited to share with the hosts. If you have an anniversary or birthday let us know.
