Making babies.

Astro and Sheena were mated on 29th and the 30th of June 1990.

Sheena was first brought around to meet Astro the week before she came in season. At this time she wanted nothing to do with him and gave him a few quick nips to let him know who was boss. She was then brought back on the 28th of June. Once again she was not very interested in him and she let him know that she was not quite ready. She was bought back again the next day. This time she was a completly different dog. She came straight in and started swinging her rear around in his face. Although he was a green dog, instinct took hold and he got to work promptly.

After a little stumbling around he managed to hit the target and locked with her after about 5 minutes. This took Sheena a little by suprise and she droped to the ground. Somehow she managed to get one of her rear legs twisted up over Astro's back. Luckily there was help at hand and we managed to untangle the two of them and get them into a comfortable position. Astro was a little bewildered by being stuck to another dog but with a few words of reassurence he settled down quite well and stayed locked for around 25 minutes.

The resulting pups came into the world on the 31st of August at noon. There were six in total, two girls and 4 boys. There were 4 black and white and 2 tri colours.
