Alfonz Lengyel, Ph.D., holds a law degree from Hungary (1948), a masters degree from California (1959) and a doctorit from the University of Paris (Sorbonne - 1964). He taught art history, archeology and museum management in France, Germany, USA, and directed excavations in Yugoslavia (Smithsonian Project, 1968), in Italy (Project of the Institute of Mediterranean Archaeology, and the Etruscan Foundation, 1969-1974), Tunisia (UNESCO project in Carthage, 1973-74), Excavations of the Sino-American Filed School of Archaeology, in Xi'an, China from 1991 annually). He is an elected member of Michigan and New York Academies; The International Council of Museums (ICOM/UNESCO), as well as a number of American and foreign professional Organizations related to art history, archaeology, and museology. He is mentioned in the following Biographies: The Marquis Who's Who; The Strathmore Who's Who; DIB Cambridge, UK, and other smaller biographies. He received the Gold medal from the Academy of Human Sciences of Brazil (1975 ), an honorary doctor degree in Law from the London Institute for Applied Research ((1973), and The Officers Cross of Merit, from the Hungarian Republic 1993. |
