PASTIMES

Geography - Logan travels amazingly well. Unless we are in stop & go traffic, she is generally quiet, except for the occasional exclamation. We thought she was falling asleep with the rumbling of the car.  As we have both had reason to ride in the backseat with her, we have discovered she spends most of the time in the car awake. She enjoys perusing the scenery as it goes by.

P.E. - The swing has become more entertaining with her increase ability to sit up and grab. She most enjoys having somebody play with her feet while she swings. Every once and a while, she will fall asleep in the swing. The drowsy head bobbing we all go through as we drift away while sitting up is accentuated by the motion of the swing.  If Logan snaps awake at the wrong point, the motion of the swing will magnify the movement of her head. Good thing the seat has some padding.

Naptime - Does anybody have a problem with classifying sleeping as a hobby?  Anybody? I didn't think so. Logan currently holds the top spot among sleepers in the house. She sleeps when and where she wants. We sleep when and where she wants.

Language Arts - Originally she just stared at them as Charly played but now she has grown quite adept with the alphabet. Just the other day I found a message from her. "turyghe woucvp aimnjh s zxcb."

Reading - We caught her reading "Parenting for Dummies" the other day. She was just taking notes and shaking her head.

Music - This is actually a retired hobby. The poor toy couldn't withstand the power of those arms. She still enjoyed playing with it, but the 30 seconds it took her to dismantle everything defeated the purpose of putting her under it. Once all the dangly parts were ripped off, she didn't have much to make it play music.

Culinary Arts - There are two very noticeable teeth on their way. One has started to break through and the other is easily distinguishable in her gums. New foods are of great interest to the bean. Recent experiments involving tortillas and oranges received rave reviews. (update, 04/25/03: The two teeth are no longer on their way-BOTH have arrived. Logan gnawing on your finger is a totally different experience now.)
