from The First Time by Cher
"Nobody esle would disagree with Peter [Bogdanovich], except for sam Elliott, and Peter was afraid of Sam.
As the shooting went on, I just stopped listening to Peter. We got into constant arguments. One time when he was yelling at me, I was ready to lose it, and sam stepped in between us. He said to Peter, 'You know what, I think it's time to leave her alone for a minute.'
And then Eric Stoltz, who played my son, Rocky, said to me, 'Ma, you're doing it wrong. When he tells you something, you just go, "Yes, yes, yes," and then you do it your way, and he never notices. Watch me.'
I watched, and that was exactly what Eric did, and he was right.
And I thought, okay, I could do that. I started saying, 'Yes, yes, yes,' and Peter never noticed.
After they started putting the movie together, and Peter looked at the first assemblages, he stopped giving me line readings. He was actually starting to be nice to me."
