Dragon Faire Committee Needed

Dragon Faire is the PTA's main fundraiser and it will be held on May 12, 2006. This event takes a lot of time and planning to get organized and it is really more than one person should have to do alone.

This year we will organize a committee to work on the different aspects of putting on Dragon Faire. Kelly Mack, who chaired this committee last year, will chair it again this year, but she will need people to help with the planning and staging of this wonderful event.

If you are interested in helping, please email Kelly Mack at ktmjam@aol.com or any PTA officer and someone will contact you with information about helping on this committee.

Reflections Program
2005-2006 Theme:
”I Wonder Why…”

The FMS PTA is inviting all students to participate in the national PTA Reflections Cultural Arts Program. Students are encouraged to submit a poem, song, photo, short story, drawing, or painting that fits for this year's theme. This program provides an excellent opportunity for students to express themselves, to share their artistic and creative side by interpreting the theme "I Wonder Why…" through visual arts, literature, music or photography.

The Arts can be powerful and influential. The goal of the Reflections program is participation, not winning. Although the program follows a "contest" format, winning should not be the emphasis. All children are gifted and talented, in their own special way. The Reflections Program can give children who have never tried creating a work of art the opportunity to experiment and feel good about their work.

Official rules and entry forms are available at www.txpta.org or contact a Foster Middle School PTA officer and we will make sure you receive the information.
