Bandai Burgertime Tri-Color Tabletop game

In this page I have the honor (I mean it!!!) to do a complete review of the fabulous Bandai Burgertime, the tabletop tri-color VFD version. I think the best part of the game, besides the game itself, it is the beautiful artwork on the box. Those Japanese artists sure know how to present their toys under the best lights possible!!! kudos to them!!!

Screen-shot of the game with description of gameplay elements

In Burgertime, you're Peter Pepper, and you try to make hamburgers by putting together cooked parts, consisted of a top and bottom bun, lettuce and the burgers. All he has to do is walk around the room and slap those parts together and voila, here comes the hamburger! Once he finishes making the four burger, he is ready to move to the next level.

Well Chef Pepper can't take it easy. While preparing the hamburgers, he has to dodge these walking!!! hot dogs and eggs. Mmmmh...yummy...oh maybe not for the Chef Pepper. As you guessed it, his only defense is his pepper spray, which he uses to freeze his enemies on their track for a few precious seconds. Another tactic he uses against his enemies is to walk on the buns and hope these would fall and crash on top of them, easy enough? would you like to give it a try?

Screen shot from the original arcade game

This tabletop version by Bandai differs from the original arcade in that it has only four floors and four spaces per four (due to obvious limitation of a handheld format), but I think the sound-effect and the fluid gameplay gives the lucky gamer a good time

The game is quite collectable due to its rarity. It was only released in Japan I think. The fact that this is a rare translation from the original Data East arcade game, makes it even more valuable. Moreover, the art work from the box is just fabulous, gotta love these Japanese cartoon artists!!!two thumbs up! :)
