2002: SUNY Fredonia, Fredonia NY.

in an area swarming with local music 6 eclectic individuals
pooled their respective musical identities and influnces togethor
to form One Punch Mickey, an energetic, dynamic irish rock band.
Offering up a unique blend of irish folk, rock, punk, bluegrass and even classical,
OPM fills an untapped genre on the local level.

at least thats how i'd like to think it goes.

all i can say is that if you leave our show in a bad mood,
it's your own fault, not ours.

I updated the site a little bit. With one new pic of the whole gang. Look for us at the brown bean coffeehouse in fredonia on Friday February 6th, and possibly a show at bj's next semester.

hey everyone out there in internet land, mike here. since our burgerfest show, the OPM have taken a bit of a summer hiatus, prepping for fredonia-style rock and roll. fear not, the time of rock is soon, and in approximately a fortnight, shall be upon us. that is all for now.

Sweet Christ on the Camen Islands, I can't believe I let this go so long...Mid-summer is here and OPM is getting back on track. A sullen mood strikes our eyes as Dan has decided to leave OPM to pursue other interests. The happy faces came flying back though, as Kyle Henning (F-Bomb) will be taking over bass duties! He's a spectacular player, tall, luscious red hair, oh yeah ladies...the works. . .um...anyhow. The summer practice wagon has set to rolling with the band strtched out between Fredonia and Amherst, and there are already some great big new twists in store. We'll be back soon with some other interesting tidbits and, hopefully sooner than not, some show dates.

First "proffesional recording" was a success. Minor things need to be edited, otherwise, we walked away with 10 yummy sounding jigs, after 48 hours with Steph and Stacia. (THANK YOU!)
The gig at the Buffalo Irish Center was a great success (props to them!), we ended up playing two sets! which was interesting and required pulling some music out of our.....vaults. Lots of good networking, and people of all ages continue to enjoy our unique sound and stage presence... and presents.
Love, Darrin

Slow your roll keeps on a-rolling. Um...yeah. Gigging away around town as best we can. I want to thank each and everyone of the familiar faces I keep seeing at show after show. Your presence does not go unnoticed.
In other news, we're finally IN for recording. March 14th we go into the studio to record our very first album! Big exciting stuff! Soon as we can we'll have those records pressed and for sale. Hang close, I'll be back before long.

2/7/03:
As promised, got that damn gigs page up. Shows are just rolling in these days, so stay tuned for regular updates...or, uh...talk to us...cuz you all know us anyway.

2/5/03:
How'd she get in here? Anyhoo, its official. we have a few shows coming up in the near future...i'll try to get to work this week on a section dedicated to shows but I'm DAMN busy so we'll see what if anything I actually accomplish. Until then just keep checking here for regular *wink* updates. I wanna give a HUGE boat of thanks to Jamie, V, Lisa and Chad for letting us use their basement for our noisy disruptive practices. It is YOU who rocks.

OOH! Also, the aforementioned Chad Williams, media artist and accomplished producer of such memorable projects as the gigantic Paper Pile Mystery Power Hour, White Dawn: Dark Territory, and Dual will be bringing to us a to-be-titled One Punch Mickey movie! Sure to be a good time for all, sure to be seen by few!

Ok, heres those gigs:
February 22nd, time tba, Muldoons
March 17th, time tba, Buffalo Irish Center (St. Pattys celebration, acoustic)
March 21st, time tba, Buffalo Irish Center (just us, electric!)

...More on these as they come in.

hey all, ilana here :-D Unicorn Open Mic on thursday proved to be quite pleasurable, however short, and really got all of our spirts up (Nothing gets my spirts up like a bottle of spirts and some fisticuffs--but thats besides the point) Hopefully we'll be back at Open Mic often.. Fredonian kids seem to like the unique sound and all, and that we are spreading good feelings= yay ...yay=ROCK!.

1/...what the hell day is it?...19th?/03:
keepin it real, back on fredonian soil. much business to be discussed very soon, most notably where we plan to record. we have a few gigs lined up, as well as an offer from the infamous Chad "ALL my toys smell like Stinkor" Williams to produce a Help-esque OPM short film as his capstone project! Up wid-it! i'll be putting up a page specificly for gigs soon, but until then, heres the official buzz: Darrin snagged us TWO dates at the Buffalo Irish center, that being the 17th and the 21st of March. INdeed, OPM IS playing St. Pattys!! More on these gigs as they unfold!

1/7/03:
new music keeps a-floodin' in as we've been sharing our wares straight across the net. keepin everyone up to speed whilst far apart is givin us a chunky head start on the 'when-we-get-back' to-do list.

1/3/03:
hey all, Rory here to convey a Happy New Year/Christmas/Boxer Day/Hannukah/St. Stevens/Kwanzaa etc. to all one and the same. my new year resolve appears to have been to finally update the site, which i have just completed, hopfully bringing it up to the level of 'respectable'. time is passing and we are getting prepped to start playing shows in the bars at Fredonia, possibly with a few other bands who share our fancy for explosive good times. we're also looking into possibly getting some recording studio time. when we get back we'll be strapping in tight and hammering out/polishing up our new songs (all of which i'm quite fond of, and i hope you are too!), as well as dusting off and perfecting the old ones. so if'n you'll just hang in there with us for just a little more, we shall soon have the opportunity to PROPERLY rock you!

12/6/02:
Two gigs...Unicorn Folk Open Mic left us with a compliment from a true folk fan regarding our sound and style, and busking to the drunks in the park at 2am left us with $2.64...OUR FIRST EVER PAYING GIG!
