|South Mountains State Park
Join us on Saturday, March 19 for a trip to South Mountains State Park. We will see some of the early arriving migrants. Some of the birds we hope to see include Black-throated Green Warbler, Northern Parula, Louisiana Waterthrush, Blue-headed Vireo, maybe an early Hooded Warbler and many other winter birds. We will meet at the new Lowe's Foods in Mt. View at 8:00am. Be prepared to walk about 3 miles. There will also be many wildflowers in bloom as well.
|We offer monthly field trips on the 3rd Wednesday or Saturday of each month. Everyone is welcome to join us on these trips. Come back to this page to get details on each trip.|
| Bakers Moutain Park
On Wednesday, April 20, we will meet at Bakers Mountain Park for some of the best spring birding in Catawba County. Last year around this date, there were many speices of warbler including Cerulean, Cape May, Blackburian, Black-throated Green and Blue , Worm-eating, Chestnut-sided, and American Redstart to name a few. There will also be many Rose-breasted Grossbeaks and maybe some Orioles. One great thing about Bakers Mtn. is that all of these birds were seen from the parking lot! We will meet in the parking lot at 8:00am.
