Dear Searching Birthfamilies and Adoptees,

We know from experience that the hardest part of your entire life could be searching for that
lost loved one(s). You might be feeling mixed emotions, or you might be feeling determined,
or you might be feeling like there is no hope in finding that one person you desire to find.
We know all of those feelings all too well. They are normal feelings when you're searching.

The first step in finding your birthchild/birthfamily is to (if possible) go to the adoption agency
And request N.I.D.B.I or Non Identifying Background Information. It can help a lot in your
search because it offers more information than you may already have about whomever you're
searching for. Depending on the agency, this could be free or cost a small fee. Either way it is
worth it.

I am not trying to discourage you, but encourage you on your search, because I know it can
be done on your own. I did it. I started searching for my birthmother when I turned 18, and after
a lot of stress and time I found her when I was 21. Right before my 21 birthday. :)

Once you find that person you're looking for, life gets a lot better and that huge weight of the
problem lifts off of you, and you can start on a healthy great relationship with your new family.

One thing I learned, is to register with every free registry you possibly can, and to post on every
message board you can find. Searching yourself is a long and grueling process, but in the end the
outcome is worth the time and trouble.

Good luck.

Sincerely, Forever Loving
