Most jazz musicians who have played this room say it's the best jazz club in Los Angeles. December 22 - 28, 2000  Rocco is moving, and that’s a big boo-goddamn-hoo, because it’ll be a drag to be without this fine Bel Air jazz club-restaurant for even the two-three months it’ll take Rocco Somazzi and booking wiz Matt Piper to dig in somewhere else.  And the prospects seemed even more questionable when one became aware that the owner, Rocco Somazzi, was--at the time—a 27-year-old Swiss Italian with very little experience in the restaurant business. And Rocco's run in Bel-Air came to an end Saturday night as Somazzi made plans to move his club--without sacrificing either its ambience or its programming--to another location (still undetermined, but projected to open in the spring).
