Patterns of Stolen Images
by
Ken Kawaichi

This project is obviously about the Crying of Lot 49 by Thomas Pynchon.  The aim of the project was to show how the pattern of words in the title of the book show up everywhere much as the symbol of the horn did to Oedipa.  I also wanted this to be a play of sorts on the language poetry that we have read by using these seemingly unrelated images to make up a cohesive project.  The use of the images from others sites was a parody of the current trends in commercial web design today.  It was almost the example from Curt cloniger of what not to do when making a web site.
