They built a new barn the next year and a new house in 1904. In November 1921, George and Helen purchased a house for their retirement in Gobles. Helen, born June 20, 1963 in Woodstock, died December 13, 1940 at Gobles. George Frederick died on February 7, 1946 at Gobles. They are buried together in Princeton Cemetery.
