TELEMARKETERS AND TAX COLLECTORS: ONE MORE TIME

DL & JB both sent me the following e-mail:

"REMINDER...9 days from today, all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls. ......YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222. It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number. HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS. It take about 20 seconds."

This is a hoax. Please read the above link.

I wish there were a national "do not tax" list in which people could sign up and opt out of all direct taxation -- income, SS, etc. -- and that there were very stiff penalties for any government flunky who dared try and steal the fruits of your or my labor.

And I wish as many people were as indignant about the taxes they pay as they are about telemarketers. Just try slamming the phone down on the IRS and pretending they didn't call.
