Romney sheep

All of our sheep are registered, purebred Romneys. The Romney breed originated in England. The American Romney is a product of English and New Zealand blood-lines. Their wool is known for its high luster and uniformity of crimp on locks that hang separately. Spinning count normally ranges from 50 to 44 (or 29 to 36 microns). The first colored Romneys were introduced to the U.S. in the early 1970s. Since that time, wool produced by this breed has become a favorite of hand spinners.
