Directions:

Olympic Peninsula. NW Washington. The most popular of the various areas in the park include: Hurricane Ridge, The Needles, Sawtooth Ridge, and Mt. Constance.

Notes:

Most of the rock in the Olympic Range is a friable except for the volcanic outcrops which tend to be much sounder rock. Glacial wilderness peaks to 8000', the king of which is Mt. Olympus at 7,965'. Some parts of the park lie in the rainshadow and recieve far less precipitation than others. Be prepared for glacier travel. Backcountry permits required. Varied rock, scenic rainforest, record rainfall, and record trees. Entertainment: Bob's Java Jive in Tacoma.
