City fire units dispatched by Northumberland County Communications to a reported working structure in the 100 block of South Diamind Street in the cities west side. First arriving Chief, Chief 1 Stephen Jeffery confirmed a working fire in the middle dwelling in a row of 4, reportes from neighbors stating unsure in the occupant is home no one seen her leave for work. First arriving engine, E-21 orderd for fire suppression activities while R-62 requested to search for a victim. E-11 layed 950 feet of 5'' from about 2 1/2 blocks, the nearest available fire hydrant. Coal Township E-111 requested as the rapid intervention unit, E-151 and Overlook E-294 added to the box for additional personnel. The home is located in a hill section of the city on one of the narrowest streets in the city, besides the norrow and tight street firefighters were able to have the fire under control in about 20 minutes. No injuries were reported on the scene however a family pet bird did perish during the blaze.
All 5 city companies did respond, E-11, E-21, E-41, E-51, R-62, Sq-66, Tower 34, Chief 1, Jeffery, Chief 2, Heim, Chief 3, Milbrand. Coal Township E-111, Unit 112, Coal Chiefs 101 Waricki, Chief 103 Malukis, Overlook E-294 and Chief Al Knorr Chief 290.
