Dr. Xiridou's introduction to this study states: "Data from the Amsterdam Cohort Study (ACS) among young homosexual men suggest that a substantial proportion of new HIV infections occur within steady partnerships. Despite the intensive campaign promoting safe sex practices among homosexual men in Amsterdam, risk-taking remains at substantial levels, especially among steady partners." ******* The study surveyed the differences in the spread of HIV infections among so-called "casual" sexual partners and those who considered themselves to be "steady" sex partners. ******* This study began in 1995 and was comprised of homosexual males under the age of 30. Every six months they were given self-administered questionnaires to fill out on their sex habits. The study ended in 1996. ******* Researchers discovered that homosexuals engaging in "casual" encounters had an average of between 16-28 sexual partners each year. Those in so-called "steady" relationships had an average of 6-10 sex partners outside of their steady sex partner. ******* In short, even in relationships that are considered "steady" by homosexual couples, they are still engaging in sodomy to as many as six to ten other individuals. ******* The study also showed that these allegedly steady relationships actually resulted in a wider spread of HIV infection among sex partners. Why? Because of "unsafe" sexual practices. The researchers concluded, "ACS revealed that between 1994 and 2000, young seroconverters were more likely to have contracted HIV from their steady partner than from casual partners." ******* What Does This Study Mean For The United States? ******* Homosexual sex habits are basically the same regardless of the culture they live in - especially in pro-homosexual environments like the U.S. and The Netherlands. ******* Homosexuals who claim that they want to be "married", are likely to spread AIDS far more rapidly than those who engage in anonymous sex in "gay" bars. ******* Homosexual activist Andrew Sullivan, writing in Virtually Normal says that heterosexuals will have to understand that among homosexuals there is: "the need for extramarital outlets" that is far greater than among heterosexuals. He notes, "The truth is, homosexuals are not entirely normal; and to flatten their varied and complicated lives into a single, moralistic model is to miss what is essential and exhilarating about their otherness." (pp. 202-203). ******* Sullivan confirms what the Amsterdam study found: Homosexuals have no intention of remaining monogamous, even if they win the "right" to marry. Perhaps the approval of sodomy, as implied by a "committed" relationship has as it's reward an increase in AIDS, the punishment for that sin. ************************************************************************************************************************ ******* item 4 DRUDGE REPORT: SAN FRANCISCO HEALTH OFFICIAL SAYS 25% OF NEWLY INFECTED HOMOSEXUAL MEN SOUGHT VIRUS ******* from Linda Harvey ******* Date: Thu, 23 Jan 2003 ******* New ROLLING STONE Managing Editor Ed Needham is set to hit complete controversy with a 4-page report: "Bug Chasers: The Men Who Secretly Long To Be HIV+." ******* Filed by Greg Freeman, the shock story claims some men with HIV are deliberately having unprotected sex with those who want to be infected! ******* "The men who want the virus are called 'bug chasers,' and the men who freely give them the virus are called 'gift givers.' ******* While the rest of the world fights the AIDS epidemic and most people fear HIV infection, this subculture celebrates the virus and eroticizes it," reports Freeman in the February 6, 2003 edition of ROLLING STONE. ******* At least twenty-five percent of all newly infected gay men fall into [bug-chasing] category, according to one claim in the "special report". ******* "In this world, the men with HIV are the most desired, and the bug chasers will do anything to get the virus." ******* Gay groups "aggressively encouraged" Freeman to drop the article. ******* One sad passage captures a young man in New York City who wants to be infected: "His eyes light up as he says that the actual moment of transmission, the instant he gets HIV, will be 'the most erotic thing I can imagine.'" ******* An infector is quoted as saying: "I'm murdering him in a sense, killing him slowly, and that's sort of, as sick as it sounds, exciting to me." ******* Most AIDS activists prefer to deny the problem exists to any significant extent, says Dr. Bob Cabaj, director of behavioral-health services for San Francisco County and past president of Gay and Lesbian Medical Association. The victim was 11 when the abuse started in Queens and in Sullivan County. ******* Occhipinti made videotapes and took pictures of the boy in sexual poses. He performed oral sex on the boy. He kept samples of the boy's bodily fluids in plastic bags as souvenirs. ******* "He is a classic pedophile," said Sullivan County District Attorney Steve Lungen. ******* For a week each July in 2003, 2004 and 2005, Occhipinti brought his Troop 183 to the Ten Mile River Boy Scout Camp near Narrowsburg. ******* Yesterday in Sullivan County Court, Occhipinti admitted what he did there. He told Judge Frank LaBuda that he performed oral sex on the boy in the woods and in tents. He also used a hand-held camera to videotape the boy in sexual poses. ******* "What did you do with the videotapes? Did you watch them?" LaBuda asked Occhipinti, who worked as a computer network engineer before his arrest. ******* "Only when I brought them home for the first time," Occhipinti said calmly. He didn't sell or distribute any tapes, he said. ******* But the case came to light when a customs agent working on another investigation found one of the pictures, of the boy in his Scout uniform. The customs agent found the boy through the troop number on his shirt. ******* The New York Police Department's Special Victims Unit arrested Occhipinti in August. He admitted molesting two boys in his Scout troop, one at his home and one at a Little Neck church where the troop met. ******* Occhipinti pleaded guilty yesterday to first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, second-degree aggravated sexual abuse and use of a child in a sexual performance, all felonies. Last week, he pleaded guilty in Queens to sexual-conduct felonies. He will get 20 years in prison when he's sentenced on June 12 in Queens and June 13 in Sullivan. ******* These pleas cover the two boys that prosecutors know about, Lungen said. ******* "What that means, Mr. Occhipinti," LaBuda said, "is if there is any other child that you abused, now is the time to tell us about it. Otherwise, you will face a separate prosecution." ******* Occhipinti said nothing. ******* After court, Lungen said the parents never knew that Occhipinti, a college-educated man with no criminal record, was a predator. ******* "A pedophile like this will find a vulnerable victim child, nurture that child, buy gifts for that child," Lungen said. Occhipinti gave the boys gifts, including SpongeBob SquarePants T-shirts and underwear that he made them pose in while he shot pictures and video. ******* Lungen said the boy's family didn't want him to have to testify - but they wanted a full measure of justice. ******* "If he needed to testify to put (Occhipinti) away, he would have done that," Lungen said.
