| The Friday Knights are
actually a direct result of Rick's long years of
developing talent to play in his Friday night pick up
games. Over the last two years, Rick has abdicated
responsibility to Coach McDonald who has improved the
quality of players and more importantly the reliability
of the players. You might say that Pete has raised it
another level or two. This year, and last year, and the year before,
Rick was building his dream home. As the whole team knows,
it took him 50% longer to build his house than it took to
build the Empire State Building.
If you have already
read the game by game results, you will know that Rick
was directly responsible for the only loss of the season.
Coach McDonald swore he would never be a Knight again,
but Coach Bowman overruled him and let him play one more
game. (the finances were a little shakey and the Knights
needed the $15 sub fee - besides Coach McDonald was in
Germany)
Unquestionably, Ricks
key strength is that his brother Bob is an excellent
goalie. Rick other strength is that he has told us that
he is always available if we need him. He has played 2
games this year. Of course we called him many more times
than that. (3 - but once was for insurance money)
