The Arminian Gospel
Galatians 1:6-12

by John A. Kohler, III

The gospel the Apostle Paul preached was not one that he learned through human instruction, but rather he received it by divine revelation.  Any gospel that differs even one iota from the gospel the Apostle Paul preached is a false, heretical, Satanic gospel and should be utterly rejected by God’s people in Christ’s churches.  The leading gospel of this sort is the Arminian gospel, which has been called “Satan’s masterpiece” and “the slickest lie the Devil ever told.”  The Arminian gospel is another gospel of a different kind, not another gospel of the same kind as the Apostle Paul preached.  It is not a gospel of God’s grace, but it is a gospel of human merit.  It is a gospel preached by those who cause trouble for the Lord’s true churches.  It is a perverted, accursed gospel., regardless of who preaches it.  Let us briefly consider some of the unscriptural characteristics of the Arminian gospel.

I.  The Arminian gospel affirms that God the Father loves all men, that God the Son died for all men, and that God the Holy Spirit desires to save all men.

 B.  Eph. 1:11

III.  The Arminian gospel denies the Biblical doctrine of the total depravity and inability of  man.

 B.  I Cor. 2:14; II Cor. 4:3-4

IV.  The Arminian gospel denies the Biblical doctrine of unconconditional election to  salvation.
 A.  Acts 13:48; Eph. 1:4-5,11; II Thes. 2:13
 B.  II Tim. 1:9; Rev. 17:8

V.  The Arminian gospel denies the Biblical doctrine of definite or particular redemption.
 A.  Isa. 53:8
 B.  Mat. 1:21; 20:28; 26:28; Jn. 10:11,14-15; I Cor. 15:3

VI.  The Arminian gospel denies the Biblical doctrine of effectual calling or irresistible grace.

 B.  Acts 5:31; 11:18; Rom. 3:22; 12:3; Gal. 2:16; 5:22; Eph. 2:8

VII.  The Arminian gospel denies the Biblical doctrine of the perseverance of the saints.

The following Bible passages teach us what our response should be to the Arminian gospel:
Ps. 119:104,128; Rom. 16:17; Eph. 5:11; II Jn. 9-11; Tit. 3:10.
