What I Believe
- I believe that all mankind is sinful and completely unable to please God.
- I believe that God, in His grace, has mercifully provided His Son, Jesus Christ, as Savior to die for the sins of His elect.
- I believe that all who repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ are given eternal life.
- I believe in a literal Heaven, a literal Hell, and a literal Devil.
- I believe in the eternal security of the believer.
- I believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. We use
only the KJV.
- I believe that Jesus Christ established His Church
during His earthly ministry, and gave that kind of church the
authority to preach the Gospel, baptize the saved, and teach the
Bible.
- I believe that the only kind of church on this earth is a local church made up of a congregation of saved, scripturally baptized believers, that have chosen to meet together in a covenant agreement, having been organized under the authority of another church of like faith and order to worship and serve the Lord just as He has commanded in His Word. I believe that kind of church today is an independent New Testament Baptist Church. I DO NOT recognize so called "churches" that have been started by men without scriptural authority from another Independent New Testament Baptist Church as churches of like faith and practice.
- I believe the Lord gave His true churches two ordinances: Baptism and the Lord's Supper.
- Baptism is the immersion of a saved person, under the authority of a New Testament Baptist Church. It pictures the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It also pictures the person being dead to sin and alive to walk in newness of life. Baptism is the doorway into the membership of a church (1 Corinthians 12:13) which is the place for the believer to worship and serve the Lord. (Ephesians 3:21)
- The Lord's Supper is a memorial supper in remembrance of Christ's death on Calvary and His resurrection from the grave. It is a church ordinance, so only members in good standing of the Baptist church observing the supper can take it.
- I do not believe a universal visible or invisible church exists on this earth and I do not associate with any form of
ecumenical, interdenominational, or nondenominational, religious organization or movement.
"If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;... from such withdraw thyself." 1Timothy 6:3,5b
- I believe that Jesus Christ will soon return to take all those who are saved to Heaven before the
seven year Tribulation.
We must do as the Bible says and
"earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." Jude 1:3b
