"SPIDEY!!" Alesha screeched running up and hugging a life-size statue of her favorite superhero. Nick laughed and snapped a picture of her.
He stopped someone who was walking by and asked him if he could their picture. Nick wrapped his arms around Alesha, laid his cheek on the top of her head. She snuggled up to him, her head on his chest. They smiled cheesily as the guy snapped their picture. Nick thanked the guy and walked back over to Alesha.
"Coolieos," she giggled.
He looked at her and shook his head. "You are so adorable."
"What makes you say that?" she asked looking up at him.
"You get so excited about getting your picture taken with a statue."
"It's not just any statue," she said in shock. "Show some respect man. That," she pointed at the statue, "is the one and only SPIDERMAN!!"
He laughed, "This. This is what I mean."
"I'm adorable because it doesn't take much to make me happy?" she asked.
"No, you're adorable because you're you. No matter what happens. No matter what people might think. You're you."
She shrugged. "Took me a while to be that way. I use to constantly worry about what people thought. I use to worry about consequences and repercussions to my actions. And by doing so, I took the fun out of living. And by taking the fun out of living, I let a lot of negative things affect me. So anyway," she said smiling, "I became the me that I am now. Not that I'm irresponsible or what have you. I just don't spend hours trying to figure out every possible scenario regarding a single decision." They had found a bench in the shade and had sat down.
"Do you ever regret anything? I mean, do you ever look back and say, what WAS I thinking?"
Alesha laughed, "All the time."
"How about right now. With us," he asked quietly looking straight ahead.
"With us?" she asked confused.
"Yeah," he nodded still not looking at her.
Alesha sighed. "I wonder what I'm doing here with you. By spending more and more time with you, I grow more and more attached. I set myself up for a bigger and bigger fall." She smiled slightly. "Don't get me wrong. I don't think that you're going to do anything to purposely hurt me. But what if you did find someone else? What if when you come back in 2 months from your tour, you decide you don't want me around anymore?"
"That's not going to happen. I love you too much to let that happen. I need you too much to let that happen."
"Nick baby, life and time do strange things. It's either going to separate us completely or make us stronger."
"But do you wanna wait around to find out? Are you sure you want to deal with a boyfriend who's never there? A guy who can't come running anytime you need someone to lean on? Are you sure you want to put up with the crap that's going to be thrown at you from the media and the fans? Are you sure you want to put up with me calling you at god knows what time whining because of some completely trivial thing that I have blown out of proportion? Are you sure you want to deal with never knowing when I'm coming home for sure because our schedule is so hectic and things change at the last minute? Have you really thought about what you've gotten yourself into?"
"Nick, I have seen many relationships fall apart because the people involved placed too high of an expectation on the other person. I know what your career is. And although I may not know first hand just how demanding it is, I have a pretty good idea. I know this is going to be a far cry from a "normal" relationship. I know that it's going to be completely different from any other that I have been in. I'll have my good days, and I'll have my bad days. Some nights I will cry myself to sleep from missing you. Some nights I will fall asleep smiling thinking of you. But each day that I wake up, everything would be worth it because I know you love me. The only thing that I ask of you is to talk to me. Let me know what is going on in your life. Good or bad. I don't want any surprises laid on me." She grinned mischievously, "Unless of course they are good surprises. Hehe." She sighed and looked at him, "Just please be honest. That is all I ask."
"Where did you come from babygirl?" he asked putting his arms around her.
"Well, I unfortunately don't have some silly alien story about my origins. I'm just a plain ole human being...came from my ma and pa."
"You aren't a plain ole human being, darlin. You are the most giving, unselfish person I have ever met. I was so lucky to have found you."
"As long as you remember that," she said kissing his nose. Grabbing his hand, she said, "Come on, you silly male. I wanna ride some more rides." She stood up and pulled him with her as she took off.
