CHAPTER 26: 4-Year Olds...

"Stop it."

"You started it."

"Quuuiiitt."

"Make me."

"Dammit. Stop."

"No."

"Knock it off!" Kevin growled at Nick and Alesha. They giggled and settled down. Kevin looked at Lori. "I feel like we're babysitting," he groaned.

"I love you."

"I love you more."

"Unh-uh. I love YOU more."

"No way. I love you the mostest."

"I love you infinity times 1000."

"I love you infinity times infinity of infinities."

"You can't do that."

"Why not?"

"That's just...it doesn't exist."

"Yes it does."

"SHUT UP!!" Kevin whispered loudly, glaring at them. "Some of us are trying to watch the movie." Lori was laughing so hard, tears were streaming down her face. "What is so funny?" he asked her softly.

"Them," she whispered, trying to catch her breath.

"They amuse you do they?" he asked starting to smile.

She nodded. "They act like they're 4 year olds."

"HEY!! I heard that," Nick leaned forward and whispered. Alesha pulled him back and kissed him. He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her back.

Kevin shook his head. "I...ummm...don't think 4 year olds do that."

Lori grinned. "At least it's keeping them quiet."

Kevin smiled and put his arm around her. She leaned over and rested her head on his shoulder. They were soon engrossed in the movie.

Suddenly something hit Kevin in the head. "What the --" he said looking around. He heard someone giggle. He sighed and settled back in his chair. He was hit again a few minutes later. He leaned over towards Nick and got smacked in the face by a handful of popcorn.

"Oh my GAWD Kevin. I am so sorry," Alesha said, trying not to laugh.

"Oh laugh. You're going to anyway," he grumbled. She shook her hand as a giggle escaped. She covered her mouth, but it didn't help. Especially since Nick was cracking up beside her.

Kevin shook his head and resumed his position next to Lori. "How old is she?" he asked.

"Alesha? 23." She grinned.

Kevin stared at her in shock for a second. "She doesn't look, nor does she act 23. She's older than Nicky?"

Lori laughed. "Yeah."

"Has she ALWAYS been like that?"

Lori shook her head. "No. She umm...she use to be quite serious and stuff all the time. She very rarely smiled."

He raised his eyebrows. "Really. Hmmm...what happened?"

She shrugged. "Broke up with her boyfriend. Found stuff to like about herself." She glanced over at Alesha who was smiling and whispering with Nick. "I've never seen her quite like this before though."

"She's a pretty complex person, huh?" Kevin asked.

"You have no idea," Lori said. She looked at him funny. "Should I be jealous? You seem a little too interested in Lesh."

He chuckled softly and kissed her. "No darlin. I'm just a little worried about her. With Nick."

"Why?" Lori asked.

He shrugged. "Nick isn't that emotionally responsible. I mean...he's only been involved in one serious relationship. I don't know how he's going to handle this whole thing once we go back on tour. I hope it doesn't end up like him and Sarah."

Lori smiled softly. "I think that Alesha is prepared for anything that Nick throws at her. That's just how she is."

"I hope so," Kevin mumbled looking over at Nick who was snuggling up to Alesha. "I truly hope so."

Alesha noticed Kevin looking at them strangely. She arched an eyebrow at him questionably. He looked down at Nick and then back at her, smiling softly. Alesha shrugged and winked at him.
