"Well, that certainly was fun," Alesha mumbled as she unlocked the door.
"I can't believe you beat me," Nick said to Taelen as he helped carry the shopping bags into the house.
"Well, you just suck at video basketball," Taelen teased. "LITA!!!!" he yelled as Nick started chasing him around the house.
"What?!? Ya'll take it outside," she groaned, rubbing her forehead as she grabbed her bags and walked back to her room to toss them on her bed.
"Shhh," Taelen said his finger to his lips. "She's got a headache."
"Hmmm," Nick said thoughtfully.
"I GOT IT!" Taelen called as he picked up the phone that was ringing. "Hello? >pausepause< HEY! >pausepausepause< Hold on," he said setting the phone down and running towards Alesha's room. "Can I go over to Joey's? He's having a swim party."
Alesha smiled. "Sure, hon. What time are you going to be home?" she asked pulling her hair up in a ponytail.
Taelen shrugged. "Dunno. Hold on," he said running out of the room. Alesha followed behind him, sitting down on the couch. "Joey? >pause< What time is it gonna be over? >pause< All night?" Taelen asked him looking over at Alesha who nodded. "Sure. >pause< Okie. >pause< Now? >pause< Okie. Bye," he said hanging up. He ran to his room and emerged a few minutes later with a bag on his shoulder. "Okay, I'm going now," he said as he hugged Alesha. "I'll see ya tomorrow."
Alesha smiled. "Okay sweetie, have fun," she said.
"Want a ride Munchkin?" Nick asked.
Taelen shrugged. "I can walk. It's not that far."
"It's okay. I have to go do some stuff," he said.
"Sure," Taelen grinned up at him.
"Okay then," Nick said handing him the keys. "Go throw your stuff in the back," he smiled.
"Cool," he said. "Bye. Love ya," he said to Alesha.
"Love you too," she replied as he ran outside. Shaking her head she stood up and walked Nick to the door. "Thanks for lunch. I had fun."
"Me, too," he said looking down at her. He was the closest he had been to her in months. Looking into her eyes was painful to him. He wanted to kiss her and hold her and tell her that nothing about her past mattered. She was what he wanted, HAD been what he wanted. It didn't matter to him what she had done, or where she'd been. He wanted to make sure that nothing bad ever touched her again. Sighing, he looked away. "I…I guess that I will see you later," he mumbled.
"Sure," she said softly, looking down so he didn't see the tears forming.
"Yeah, umm…sorry you didn't get to meet your friend," he said.
Alesha shrugged. "Oh well. I'll get over it."
"Hmm…well, I guess…" he said awkwardly.
Alesha nodded. "I'll see ya later," she said looking up at him. For a moment, she thought he was going to kiss her. Not that it was an entirely terrible thought. She just didn't know if she could stop it once it started. And THAT bothered her. But he didn't. Instead, he just turned and slowly walked away. He helped Taelen into his truck, and before climbing into the driver's side, he looked up at the house, a sad look on his face. But then he got in the vehicle and drove away.
Sitting on the deck, Nick watched the sun set on the edge of the ocean. One of his favorite things about living in Tampa was the fact that you could actually see the sun setting on the water. "Must suck to live on the east side of the state," he thought. That of course led his thoughts to Alesha. Not that they were far from her anyway. Being close to her for the short amount of time he was reminded him of all the reasons he had fallen in love with her to begin with. Never mind that she was a mother. Never mind that she had done things in the past that he'd only read about or seen in cheesy TV movies. He loved her and wanted her to be in his life. And living without her made him crazy. "I have to get her back," he sighed. "No matter what. I have to." Glancing down at the beach, he noticed a lone figure sitting. Smiling to himself as he recognized them, he stood and walked down the stairs to the beach, and headed in that direction.
"Dammit," Alesha sighed. "This isn't how it's suppose to be. I'm supposed to be moving on," she said tossing a handful of rocks into the water. Being around Nick today had caused her head to become confused. She had just started putting her life back in order and began picking up the pieces of her broken dreams and her broken heart and moving on. But spending time with him had caused the shaky foundation of her newly built, and extremely fragile world to shatter. He didn't want her back, she had too much baggage. Sure, he loved Taelen, loved hanging out with him. Sure, he looked at her with desire and need. But he had already told her he couldn't deal with her and her past. "Why does it have to hurt so bad," she mumbled as she pulled her knees up to her chest, resting her chin on them as the tears fell. She closed her eyes, wishing she could have even just one more night sharing the love she felt with him.
"Hey," Nick said softly as he sat down next to Alesha on the sand.
"Umm…hi," she said, startled.
"Seen ya over here. Hope you don't mind."
Shaking her head, she smiled shakily. "No…no. It's okay," she said
Nodding, he stretched his legs out in front of him, crossing them at the ankles. His arms were laying in his lap, his hands locked together. They sat in silence, staring out at the ocean. "Do you ever wonder what the ocean would say if it could speak?"
Alesha smiled. "We'll pretend that you didn't just remind me of Garth asking Wayne about Bugs dressing up as a girl bunny, and I'll answer. Yes, I do."
Nick laughed. "How did you get Wayne's World out of that question?"
Alesha shrugged. "Random movie thought. Kind of like that was a random question."
Nick nodded. "Think about it though, seriously. The ocean sees so much of the world. People, like you and me, sitting here, thinking, and talking, whatever. It gets to see and hear all of it. I bet if the ocean could speak, it would have the answers to every possible question anyone could EVER ask."
Alesha looked at him. "Ya know, you amaze me," she said softly.
"Why's that?"
"Well, because. Around the guys you act like this big blonde doofus. But get you alone, and you come up with some of the deepest, most profound thoughts I've ever heard."
"Only around you," he whispered.
Alesha yawned suddenly. "Sorry," she said.
Nick smiled. "Come on. Let's get you back to the house before you fall asleep out here."
"I guess," she said softly, taking the hand he offered her. He helped her stand up, and they walked back towards the house. As they stood at the door, they both realized they were still holding hands.
Nick let go and stepped back. "I umm…guess…I should go," he said.
"I guess," Alesha mumbled looking down at the ground.
"Can I…would you be mad…if I gave you a hug?" he asked, his eyes pleading with her to say no.
Alesha smiled softly and walked over to him. Standing on her tiptoes, she wrapped her arms around his neck and whispered, "No," softly in his ear.
He slid his arms around her waist holding her close to him. Resting his chin on her shoulder, he closed his eyes, inhaling the scent of her hair and her perfume. Turning slightly, he kissed her neck, nuzzling it gently like he use to do. Kissing slowly up to her jawline, his lips found hers. After a few feverish moments, he pulled away breathless. "I'm…I'm sorry…" he mumbled as he turned and started walking away.
"Nick," she called after him. He stopped walking, but didn't turn around. "Please don't go," she whispered. Slowly turning to face her and walking back up the steps of the porch, his eyes searched hers for answers to questions he didn't want to ask. "Don't," she shook her head. "Just stay. Please?" she asked, taking his hand as she opened the door to the house. He followed her inside, shutting and locking the door.
This time she initiated the kiss. Heavy and deep she kissed him, her tongue tracing his lips lightly before he allowed it to slip inside his mouth and meet his. Their fingers were busy tugging at the buttons to their clothing, desperately trying to rid each other of the confines of the materials keeping their bodies from touching. Leaving a trail of clothes behind them, they made their way to the bedroom, collapsing on the bed, still locked in a passionate kiss. Alesha's fingers roamed over the familiar patterns of the muscles of his body, touching him in all the places she knew caused his breath to catch. Sliding down his body, her lips and tongue leaving a hot trail behind, she found his rock hard sex. Licking around the tip, hearing him growl deep in his throat, she took all him in her mouth, as deeply as she could, licking around the base of him. Sliding him back out slowly, she sucked on the tip again, tasting the salty fluid that was waiting for her there. Pulling him all the way back in, her mouth began a sensual torture of him. Sucking and licking, she brought him to the edge of his sanity. Pushing himself deeper into her mouth, Nick closed his eyes tightly, gasping for air as he felt himself shoot his passion down her throat. Feeling the last of his hot liquid slide down her throat, she kissed her way back up to his mouth. Nick began kissing and touching her in all the places that caused a similar reaction from her. His lips moving from her mouth back to her neck and down her chest. Taking one nipple into his mouth, he tugged it gently with is teeth, causing her to moan softly. Caressing her breast with his hand, squeezing and tracing it lightly, he sucked and nipped at the bud for a few moments, and then moved to the second one. Kissing his way down her stomach, his tongue tasting every inch of her skin as he made his way down to the core of her. Slipping inside, darting in and out, he teased her. His hands were still fondling her breasts as his mouth worked on her other parts. Sucking on her clit gently, he knew she was ready to cum by the way her breathing became shallower and her fingers were tangling in his hair. Sliding his hands down her side, he slid a finger moving it in and out slowly, while still nipping, licking, and sucking on her. Her body shuddered as it released itself in his mouth, he greedily lapping up the juices. Moving back up her body, he slowly moved himself between her legs. Pulling them up around him, he slid himself into her gently, feeling her familiar tightness around him. Wanting to make the pleasure last as long as he could, he moved slowly. He felt her fingers digging into his back as he moved in and out in a torturously slow pace. Watching her bite her bottom lip in the way that he loved so much, he pushed himself deeply inside her, smiling as her eyes flew open and she cried out in pleasure. Unable to hold it back any longer, Nick started moving faster. Knowing she was ready as well, feeling her hips moving up to meet him, he pushed himself deeper and harder. Reaching the peak of their passion, they found their mutual release, as they came crashing back to earth, lost in the feeling of ecstasy that only experienced when they were together.
