Standing together, Howie and Rebecca stared into each other's eyes. Today was the day that they along with the rest of the world had been waiting months for. Inside the church was their closest family and friends. Outside was a gathering of fans, determined enough to have discovered the "secret" location of the ceremony. Howie looked devastatingly handsome in his white tux. His dark purple bow tie matched the vest and cummerbund of the suit. There were only two people standing up for them. AJ stood next to Howie, looking like a combination of the Mad Hatter and the White Rabbit from Alice In Wonderland. His white suit matching Howie's except AJ's jacket tails were longer; and on his head, sitting at an awkward angle was a white top hat, a purple ribbon around it.
Rebecca's wedding attire was far from conventional. Instead of a dress, she opted for a white cat suit, the ends of the legs flaring out like the bottom of a dress revealing the pair of white kid boots, with small purple flowers along the edges around the laces that she wore. The see-through sleeves of the suit fit as snugly as the rest of it, coming to a point at the wrists. The edges of the cat suit were trimmed in dark purple, making her attire the perfect match for Howie's tuxedo. The ten-foot train fastened to the back of the cat suit and to each wrist with dark purple elastics. Her long, dark hair was curled and pinned under the headpiece, made of smaller versions of the white and purple roses she held in her hand, sported a veil of see-through white mesh lace.
Alesha, who she chose to stand up for her, wore an outfit similar to that of Rebecca's. The biggest difference being, instead of a train, Alesha had on a sleeveless see-through white lace jacket, that gave her outfit the flowing effect. She carried a smaller bouquet comprised of two white and two purple roses.
As Rebecca and Howie said their vows and placed their rings on each other's fingers, the wedding was sealed with a kiss. Everyone cheered and clapped their hands. Soon they were all outside waiting for the happy couple to exit the building.
As the newlyweds walked back down the aisle together, soft words drifted from the speakers.
o~/I don't care who you are/Where you're from/What you did/As long as you love/Who you are/Where you're from/Don't care what you did/As long as you love me/~o
Walking outside, they were bombarded by the bubbles that were being blown at them. Laughing and dodging the onslaught, the happy couple climbed into the white stretch limo that was waiting for them at the curb.
"Here's to long life and happiness. May both be in your future," Kevin said holding up his glass of champagne.
"Here's to the first woman brave enough to venture into the unknown world of being a Backstreet Wife," Brian grinned.
"I just wanna take the opportunity to say that I'm happy that everyone's happy. But I'm not happy. Well…I'm kind of happy. But I could be happier," AJ said standing up. Everyone was looking at him funny. "I know that this is Howie and Rebecca's moment, but you should have expected me to be itching to be the center of attention," he grinned. "Lori, I'm still waiting for your answer," he said looking at her.
"My…answer…to what? Oh my god," she cried, her eyes wide.
"I'm sorry if it scares you that much," he said looking at her.
"N-n-no," she shut her eyes tightly and bit her lip. "I…it's…I have to…oh my god."
"She's going into labor," Alesha said jumping up.
As they wheeled Lori towards the emergency room, AJ was right next to her holding her hand. "Yes," Lori whispered, gritting her teeth as another wave of pain racked her body.
"Huh?" AJ asked confused.
"Yes," she said a little louder.
"Yes…what?" he asked.
"Dammit, AJ. Yes, I will marry you," she growled.
"What? Oh, are you sure?" he asked confused.
"If you're gonna question it, then no," she said closing her eyes tightly.
"No, no. I'm just…cool," he grinned. Kissing her on the cheek, he let go of her hand and started to walk off.
"Where are you going?" she cried thinking he was leaving her.
"To get the priest," he called over his shoulder.
"This isn't fucking Lethal Weapon, AJ. I don't need to do this before I have the baby. I can wait. Get your ass over here," she said.
"I wanna know what's going on," he whined.
"She's having a baby," Nick answered, flipping through a magazine.
"I know she's having a baby," AJ growled. "Why won't they let me in there."
"Umm…probably because you attacked the doctor?" Carrie answered looking up at him.
"I did not attack the doctor. I simply told him that if he made her scream like that again, I was going to shove something up his ass," AJ pouted sitting down.
"It's not HIS fault she's screaming," Brian grinned.
"Yeah, Bone. If you'd learned to control yourself, she'd not be here in pain," Kevin teased.
"Shut the fuck up. All of you," AJ glared at them. "I just hope she's okay."
"Oh AJ. She's fine," Leighanne smiled at him. "Trust me."
AJ stood up quickly as the doctor walked in the room. Looking over at AJ, she smiled softly. "Mr. McLean. Could you come with me please?"
"What is it? Is Lori okay? Did something happen?" everyone heard him asking as he followed the doctor through the doors.
"I wonder what is going on?" Kevin asked looking over at Alesha who was on the phone with Howie.
"Haha. She's turning into Howie," Brian laughed pointing.
"What?" Nick asked looking over at Alesha. He grinned and shook his head.
"I'm a daddy!!!!!!!" AJ yelled running through the doors. "She's done. She had a boy!"
Alesha laughed as she hung up her phone. "She's done, eh?" Leighanne was giggling uncontrollably at AJ.
"What's his name, Boner?" Brian asked.
AJ made a face at him. "Hell no his name ain't Boner. What the hell?"
Nick laughed. "No, idiot. Boner, what is your son's name?" Nick asked, rewording Brian's question.
"Oh. It's Destin Alexander McLean."
Howie smiled over at Rebecca as he lay next to her on the beach in Jamaica. "I hope they aren't too disappointed in us."
Rebecca smiled. "Knowing AJ, he probably expected it," she looked up at him.
"I love you Rebecca Dorough," he said softly taking her in his arms and kissing her softly.
"I love you Howie Dorough," she smiled.
"So, uh…when do we getta start?" he asked.
"Start what?" she looked over at him.
"You know…our own family," he smiled, tracing the curve of her shoulder lightly with his finger.
The feel of his touch mixed with the cool night breeze of the ocean air caused her to shiver. "Whenever you're ready," she said softly.
"Oh. I was thinking…now?" he said, rolling her over and kissing her passionately. They were both thankful they'd rented a hut on a secluded part of the island, or whoever was out on this night sure would have gotten an eyeful.
Alesha and Nick walked into Lori's room a couple of hours later, watching as AJ and Lori cuddled their new son. Smiling at each other, the knocked lightly on the door.
"HEY!" Lori smiled up at them.
"Come in. Isn't he the cutest?" AJ asked walking over and trying to hand the baby to Nick.
"ACK! Don't hand that to me," Nick said stepping back. "I'll break it."
Alesha laughed. "He's not an it," she said taking Destin in her arms. "Aren't you a cutie. Looks like you're gonna get your daddy's nose, though," she said softly shaking her head. "Poor lil guy."
"Hey. What's wrong with my nose?" AJ said his hand on his face.
Lori smiled. "Nothing's wrong with your nose, baby," she said kissing it gently. "It's a beautiful nose."
They looked over at Alesha and Nick sitting on the other bed. Alesha was showing Nick how to hold the baby. He looked scared to death, but relaxed slightly after holding Destin for a few minutes. He leaned over and kissed Alesha softly.
"They're gonna make awesome parents someday," AJ mused watching them.
Lori smiled. "They're already parents."
"To a baby though," AJ said.
Lori nodded. She smiled at Alesha when she looked over. "So, did you call Howie and Rebecca?"
Alesha nodded. "Yeah. They asked if you'd be terribly disappointed in them if they didn't show up," she grinned. "I told them that I thought ya'lld understand if they were ready to get down to starting their own lil family."
AJ laughed. "Of course," he said walking over. "My turn Frack. Hand him over," he said holding out his hands.
Nick was making faces and talking in baby talk to Destin. "Man, these are cool. Can we have one Lesh?"
Alesha looked at him like he was crazy. "Maybe someday," she said smiling at Lori.
"Everyone's back where they're suppose to be," Brian said smiling over at Leighanne as they sat down to dinner.
"And everyone's happy," she replied leaning over and kissing him softly.
"I feel like we're on the Walden's or something," Kevin said helping Carrie slide her chair in to the table.
"Or some really cheesy family sit com," she grinned up at him.
Brian laughed. "I'm just glad this whole drama is over," he shook his head. "I think I've aged 10 years these last few months."
"You? Do you see this?" Kevin pointed.
"See what?" Brian asked looking closely.
"I've got gray hair," he said pouting.
Brian laughed. "That's not gray hair. That's dandruff," he said laughing.
Leighanne giggled. "I bet you guys will think twice before going off tour for 7 months again, eh?" she grinned.
Kevin laughed. "You can say that again."
"But you have to admit," Carrie said slipping her hand in Kevin's. "It was the best 7 months ya'll have had."
Brian scrunched his face up in thought. "Weeellll," he said. Laughing, he nodded. "Yeah. It has been. At least for all ya'll. I'm the only intelligent one. I've known all along what I've wanted and well, I'm not the dumbass the other guys are. I didn't let it go and have to worry about getting it back," he smiled patting Leighanne on the hand.
"I don't know how I should feel about that," Leighanne said looking at him.
"Special my darling, special," he grinned.
"Wow," Kevin said.
"What?" Carrie asked. "I just thought of something," Kevin looked around at the table. "AJ and Lori just started the next generation of Backstreet."
Brian laughed. "Oh heaven help us. A baby Boner. Wonder who's next?" he said as everyone laughed.
