Not Just a Fantasy
Suddnely, I felt a hand on my leg, gently stroking the wet material of my khakis. I looked up and found myself staring into familiar ocean blue ees. The eyes of my mermaid. She had pulled herself up on shore. Her hair slicked back behind her. Her tan, naked flesh resting on the sea-soaked sand. Still not one word had escaped her lips.
She pulled her hand away from my thigh and began pushing herself back toward the water. Her silvery-blue tail left impressions of scales in the sand. I reached out for her, but she looked at me with pain in her eyes. I let her go back to the sea, my heart beginning to ache once again. She dove into an inbound wave and disappeared from view only to resurface seconds later. Her arm rose from the water and gestured me to join her in her watery home. Before one could say, "Bob's your uncle!" I had stripped myself of everything except my boxers and ran through the darkened waves to greet my mermaid.
I reached her and covered her in kisses. Her lips. Her neck. Her shoulders. She tasted of salt. We broke the kiss and floated there staring at each other. "Who are you? What's your name?" I asked her.
A string of nonsensical words that resembled baby talk flowed from her mouth.
I looked at her and shook my head. "I don't understand," I whispered. Once again she tried to explain who she was, but the same string of blabber was all I heard. I still didn't understand. But she must have understood me. I shook my head again. She drew me closer to her and pressed my forehead against hers. My eyes were glued to hers and the longer I stared into them, the more I knew about her. Shock impulses penetrated my brain as her eyes changed colors. I could see waves in the blue iris crashing against the lens. A watery village appeared in her pupils. One final impulse blasted its way through my cranium and my breath caught in my throat. When she released her hold on my head, I fell backwards into the inky water, shaken and startled but not afraid.
"My name is Seraphina," she said in perfect English. Or so I thought.
       "You speak English?" I asked.
"No. You understand Ocetal. My language," she answered with a smile. "I live in an underwater village called Ocetal with my mother and sister," Seraphina said.
"Do you ever go on shore?" I questioned.
"Once in a while. But I can't be out too long. No more than twelve hours," Seraphina explained.
"Will you come out with me tonight?" I inquired. "I'm supposed to meet my band mates at this club and I would be honored if you would join me," I stated.
Seraphina smiled warmly. "It would be an honor to be your date," she said. She paused, a solemn look on her face. "However, your friends won't be able to understand me. You are the only one who can," she stated.
"Then don't talk. Not even to me. I'll never be able to explain how I know Ocetal," I replied with a chuckle.
"Okay. Go ashore and dress. I'll be right out," she whispered before kissing me lightly and disappearing beneath the dark surface.
I rushed ahore and threw on my khakis and t-shirt. I was tying my soggy shoes when I saw two bare feet directly in front of me. My eyes traveled upward, taking in everything. Seraphina stood there, naked and beautiful. Her smooth, tan legs. Actual legs. Her slender hips and waist. She was even more beautiful as a human than a mermaid. "No clothes?" I asked as I stood up.
"Mermaids don't traditionally wear clothes," she said with a smirk.
"Here. Wear this until we get back to the cabin," I said, handing her my flannel shirt. "Leighanne and Kristin should be here by now. You can borrow something from them," I stated. Seraphina graciously accepted the shirt and put it on her naked frame.

On the drive back to the cabin, Seraphina didn't stop talking. Not for a minute. "Ssshhh..." I put my finger up to her lips as we approached the cabin. I could see the clan having drinks in the kitchen. "Wait right here, Seraphina," I said, walking to the front door.
I opened the door. "Uh...Brian?" I called. Brian's head popped out from around the kitchen doorway.
The look on his face was priceless. It was a puzzled, disgusted, oh-my-God look all wrapped into one. "Yes, Nick?" he asked cautiously, eyeballing my wet clothes and water-logged sneakers.
"Can you grab my robe and a towel for me?" I asked. I still didn't want Kevin to yell at me for dripping on the floor, especially since Kristin and Leighanne were here. "Thanks," I said, taking the robe and towel from Brian's hands. "You can go back to the party. I'll be there in a couple minutes," I stated when Brian just stood there, still confused. He turned and walked back to the kitchen, muttering something about me losing my marbles.
I returned to Seraphina who stood next to the Jeep. "Here you go, hon," I said, handing her the towel. She didn't take it from my hand, but instead stared seductively into my eyes. Se unfastened the top button of the flannel shirt and exposed some flesh to me. One button after another followed until the entire thing slid off her shoulders, leaving her naked in the yard.
I picked up the towel from where I dropped it and wrapped it around her bare shoulders. I rubbed her arms to wark her flesh, but before I knew it, we were on the ground fondling and caressing each other. I wanted to make love to her, but not tonight. "Seraphina, we should stop. It's too soon. Let's go into the party," I said, pulling away from her naked body.
"I understand," she answered. She pulled the towel around her body and I closed my robe as we walked back toward the cabin. We hung the wet clothes over the porch banister before cautiously opening the cabin door. Quietly, I ushered Seraphina down the hall to my room. I quickly dressed in jean shorts and a wife-beater and ran to the kitchen to get some feminine advice.
"Hey, Nicky! It's about time you showed up!" AJ shouted. "We were waiting for you to come before the party really started!"
"Thanks," I shouted back. "Leigh, Kris, could I see one or both of you for a moment?" I asked.
"Sure, Nick," Leighanne replied. She and Kristin followed me down the hall and stopped just outside my bedroom door. "What's up, Nick?" Leighanne asked, one eyebrow raised.
"I met this girl on the beach and I asked her to come to the party with me. Unfortunately, our clothes got soaked," I explained.
"And you want us to loan her some," Kristin finished for me. I nodded. "Well, let's take a look at her," Kristin demanded softly, putting her hands on her hips. Shocked and embarrassed is the only way I can describe how I felt about the sight before me, Kristin, and Leighanne.
Seraphina was laying on her stomach on my bed, completely buck-ass naked. She lazily kicked one foot in the air while she sipped a glass of water and watched old reruns of
I Love Lucy. I tapped her on the shoulder and she rolled over and off the bed to meet Kristin and Leighanne. Seraphina held out her hand, but didn't say a word.
"Hello," Leighanne and Kristin said in unison. They were handling the situation quite nicely. I mean it's not everyday that a beautiful, naked woman introduces themselves to a person.
       "This is Seraphina," I said.
Kristin leaned over toward me. "How come she doesn't talk?" she asked quietly in my ear.
"She doesn't speak English," I whispered back. Kristin nodded her head in understanding. "Um...I'm going to the kitchen. Seraphina, you're in good hands with these two beautiful women," I said, running a hand through my hair and blowing them all a kiss. I closed the door behind me as I left and hoped Seraphina would be all right.
I snatched my Hawaiian shirt from the back of the couch and walked into the loud, boisterous kitchen. "Hey, Kid Nicky! Where've you been?" AJ asked, shouting over the music, his arm wrapped around an exotic islander's waist.
"Yeah. And where did you take our fiancees to?" Brian inquired.
"I borrowed Leigh and Kris to help me with a situation," I replied. AJ looked at me strangely. "Don't go there, Bone! That's not what I meant!" I said sternly.
AJ held up his hands. "I didn't say anything!"
"You were thinking it!" I retorted.
"Well, you ready to go?" Howie questioned. He, too, had a beautiful island native on his arm.
"No. Not yet. Kristin and Leighanne are still with my date," I replied smuggly. I knew Seraphina was far more beautiful than any other girl here.
"Nicky, are you ready?" Leighanne shouted down the hall.
"Yeah!" I shouted back excitedly. "Here you go, boys. My beautiful date Seraphina," I announced.
Seraphina walked into the kitchen and ten eyes bugged out and five mouths dropped. She was absolutely stunning. Her long, chestnut hair shined brightly under the kitchen lights, illuminating blonde streaks I had never noticed before. And although she was clad in simple white jean shorts and and ocean blue halter top that matched her eyes perfectly, I thought she was more radiant that Aphrodite herself. Her skin looked even more tan and radiant than it had before. Her midriff peeking out from the halter and her long legs excited me and I almost gave into the urge to abandon the club and make sweet, sweet love to my mermaid.
"Now are we ready?" Howie asked.
I took Seraphina's hand in mine. "Most definately," I answered, staring directly at my mermaid.
