Michael Clore³ (Johann Georg Klaar², Hans Michael Klaar¹), known as "Big Mike" either because of his stature or simply to distinguish him from other Michael Clores¹, was born 01 December 1746 in Orange (now Madison) Co., VA² and died 07 December 1817 in Madison Co., VA.³  At the probate of his father's will on 19 September 1751, Michael was placed under the guardianship of his grandfather Peter Weaver.⁴  He married Margaretha Weaver. Margaretha Weaver, daughter of John Weaver and Barbara Kaifer, was born 19 December 1752 at Culpeper (now Madison) Co., VA⁵ and died 24 November 1842 at Madison Co., VA.⁶

Michael Clore and Margaretha Weaver had the following children:

2.  Confusion existed about which Michael Clore was the son of George Clore and which was the son of John Clore.  The sources in this endnote may have given Michael as the son of John because I am including all references to the birth of either.  Claude Yowell, author of Germanna Record #10, stated that Dr. Arthur Leslie Keith, author of the William and Mary Quarterly article about the 1717 Colony, had come to the conclusion that he was the son of John but gives no reason.  Many thanks to Nancy Moyers Dodge and John Blankenbaker for proving the Michael Clore who married Margaret Weaver was most likely the son of George based on land records and the baptismal records of Hebron Lutheran Church.  Keith, p 181 date only given as about 1745-1750, p 182 says unsure which Michael was the son of John and which the son of George; Correspondence from John Clore to Howard D.
