Euthanasia: the paradox.
5 May, 2001
Siena
It is a paradox.
In the industrialized world each person must be efficient, responsible, able to conduct
work and family. It's a paradox that this efficent man is thought unable to decide in the very difficult situation of illness.
In all his life this man has tried to develop his fortress. And why at the end of life does he have to renounce his freedom?
Why has he to renounce the experience of a new knowledge, also if a hard knowledge?
Or do we have to hypothesize that the actual culture doesn't promote freedom and a profound conscienceness of life!
It may be that there are people who want to conduct our life, who try to preclude us from this sense of freedom, who want to cancel
in every moment each occasion that gives us intimacy!
