Kathleen Kelley- 76 to 79 - then helped coach with Coach Blacker for a year. i live in Naples now. At least for 6 more months before we move to Izmir , Turkey. My husband just made Lt. Col.in the US army. It is fun being able to see all the old places. but makes me feel old going to the high school for teacher conferences with son's teacher. One being Ms.Anderson. Mr. Osborne is still here and Coach Blacker came back last year but retires this year. Naples has not changed much- more cars and roads. the base are changeing -- but Naples is basically still the Naples we all love. The food is still great. Went to Bagnoli Joes for pizza last week, it was great. my e-mail is "dblose@writeme.com". 01/01

Napoli 2001 Reunion is well underway and has over 130 people attending from all years and includes faculty, families and friends. We are anticipating a significant number of locals who still live in Naples to also attend some events. For the 50th commemorative anniversary dinner we are expecting current NAHS faculty and administration as well as base big-wigs to attend. Stars and Stripes has expressed interest in covering the event. There is still room if you are interested in attending. Look under Links for some websites, including our webpage. http://www.sirius.com/~yow/napoli2001.htm If you are unable to attend this reunion, I would encourage you to attend the Overseas Brats gathering in Wichita, KS. It is a great way to make those connections you've been missing over the years. Joyce Loer Jones FSHS '71 (68-71) m-jones11@airmail.net m-jones11@airmail.net 01/01
Hi, this is Dan Conlon. I just posted the above message for the 2001 reunion and I am planning on attending. I was actually talked into it by my wifes co-workers who say it is a once in a lifetime event and I have to agree with them. I don't think we will see another opportunity like this in our lifetime. I want to encourage those from the 70's era to attend as the list appears to be mainly from the 60's. Come on Scott White, Pat Murphy, Mike Sullivan, Beth Mounce, Debi Rader and the rest of the regular reunion attendees. Time is running short so sign up now!!! 01/01

I am posting this note in memoriam to those who might have known Dave Lowman FSHS '73 so that those of you who wish to can contact the family regarding this terrible tragedy. Life is made up of the good and bad and we must all pull together. Ciao tutti. Joyce Loer Jones FSHS '71 Fellow Neapolitans, I am not very good with computers, so I am writing a new message as a reply to this address in the hopes that it will get forwarded on to appropriate people. This is really hard for me, but here goes: On Monday, Jan 8, 2001, 11:10 pm, in Sacramento, Ca, my beloved brother, Dave Lowman, while returning home from work at Dolan's Lumber where he was a swing shift supervisor, was struck by a drunk driver going 100mph and died instantly at the scene according to an undercover cop who was just getting ready to stop the erratic driver (24yr old man with a suspended license & passenger who both walked away without a scratch). Our family of course is devasted because David was only 45 yrs young, a brother, son, father to two children-Katie, 21yrs & Donald-13yrs, grandfather of sixth months to Katie's daughter Shay, wife to Rosemary Gillespie for 24 yrs, friend to all who new him especially those that worked with him. The owner of the lumber yard shut down the plant for 1 day because all of the men were devasted and couldn't work. Also, I know there are some of you out there whom I don't know but did know Dave. The driver was just offered a plea bargain of 6yrs and he turned it down. For whatever reason, the DA countered with a 6yr plea bargain and he did not accept that. On Thurs, February 15, 2001, in Sacramento, the driver will be sentenced by the judge. Before the judge passes the sentence, any family or friends will be able to give there testimony as to the reasons why our loss of Dave will affect them. All of our family and friends will be there with buttons with Dave's picture and will be giving our written and verbal testimonies. We received a sweet letter from Dave's friend, Mike Murphy, about how David was a meaningful part of his early years along with kind words & cards from many others who knew him. The reason I am writing this is to let his friends know and to ask that if you knew Dave and would like to e-mail me or mail to me with any letters or thoughts that I will also submit to the judge, it would really help to keep this guy from killing someone else for as long as possible. I do not hate the guy, but I deeply loved my brother and he leaves a young family behind. Along with remembering all of the good things about Dave (especially his sense of humor--one plant worker said he told Dave a joke every day just to hear his laugh) I also want to do everything within my power to keep this from happening to someone else. My e-mail address is: slowman@ss.ca.gov My mother's address for mail is : Marge & Don Lowman, 4914 Jolana Lane, North Highlands, Ca, 95660. Also, my mother's phone is 916-334-3161. My phone is 916-481-6552. My home address for mail would be: Susan Lowman, 3613 Larchmont Square Lane, Sacramento, Ca, 95821-3703. Thank you so much for listening and thank you in advance if there is anything you desire to submit by e-mail or letter about Dave. Sincerely, Susan Lowman FSHS '71 slowman@ss.ca.gov m-jones11@airmail.net 01/01
I recently received the news about the untimely death of Dave Lowman ('73) and have been carrying it around with me for the past week. I remember Dave from baseball at Carney Park and from school. Dave was a great baseball player and won the batting championship one year with a .500+ batting average. He was a perennial All-star, but the thing I remember most about Dave is that he was one of the 'older' guys that I looked up to and respected. Dave's sister wrote to my sister, Roni, and gave a brief history of Dave since he left Naples. I hope that she prints it here one day for all to read, it was very calming to learn about Dave's life since he left Naples. Dave is a member of my extended family of FSHS'ers and his passing has stirred something inside of me and caused me to grieve. My mother has expressed her sympathy and vaguely remembers Dave but is also moved by the news. My prayers and my family's prayers are with Dave and his family. Kevin Fetzer ('74) 01/01

I am looking for Susan Arvidson. She graduated FSHS Class of '79 (as did I). I last was in touch with her when I was attending the University of Texas, and we both lived in Austin. Her father wasn't in the military, I don't think, but was a civilian somehow attached to the military. If anyone knows how to contact her, please let me know. Thanks. Laura Magner lmagner@frontier.net 01/01
I was a Gaeta kid who attended FSHS 1978-1979, junior and half of senior years. My brother, Chip, was there for senior year only, 1978. When we first started at FSHS, in 1978, some Naples kids took us on an adventure. We all skipped class on a warm day, and Chip & I followed the Naples kids through a circuitous route, including walking through a tunnel, to a cliff over the bay. It seemed some distance. There was a promontory, and we all jumped off the cliffs into the water. Does anyone remember this place? We were so new to the city that Chip & I could never remember where it was.It was really fun & exciting. Another crazy FSHS memory. Laura Magner lmagner@frontier.net 01/01
Amy(Smith)Patterson Class of '78 ('71-'75) Great site! Hey Paul LeBleu, remember me? I live in Texas now, north of Dallas. I married a cowboy (for real!)and have been married 20 years. I have also been a ranch cook and was head chef at a Bed and Breakfast. I would love to hear from anyone else in the old crowd. I have kept in touch with Theresa Eichhorn over the years, and also Natalie Runnion. Tell Mark Cipres I said "hi". Ciao! hparena@earthlink.net 01/01
