Frequently Asked Questions

Who attends meetings? Students, faculty, and community members who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans-gender, or just curious. Straight people who support GLBTA issues also attend our meetings as allies.

Do I have to 'come out' or be on an attendance list? No, we do not publish a list of names, and we do not require you reveal your sexual preferences.

What happens at meetings? At each meeting we discuss current and past issues, support each other, make friends, educate ourselves about our history, socialize, and have fun!

What if I see someone I know at the meetings? If you see someone you know, chances are they are there for the same reasons you are! They are gay, lesbian, bisexual, curious, or a supporter and friend.

Can I bring a friend for support ? Yes! We want you to feel as comfortable as possible, and we don't judge others when they walk through the door.

What if I don't want to attend the meetings and need someone to talk to? You can talk to anyone with a SAFE Place sticker. This is a sticker with an upside down pink triangle. These people may or may not be gay, but have been trained to support you through issues. You can also e-mail anyone on the members list.
