5) Dr. Richard Kimble.com (11/3/2000) Wow. That's all I could say after seeing this episode. This quite possibly could be the best episode since the pilot. Dr. RichardKimble.com starts out with us watching Kimble looking for a job in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He is on a fishing dock and asking if there is room for him on a shrimping boat. The man on it asks Kimble of he has any experince fishing. Kimble replies that he has had experience "on the water", so the man asks him to tie his boat up then. Kimble does the wrong kind of knot, so the man says that he has not the time to be teaching someone how to do these things. So instead Kimble proceeds to make home for a few hours on someone elses yaht. We all know that the 'nieghbor' to the boat Kimble is on saw him and knows he doesn't belong there. Kimble proceeds to eat and sleep on this boat and is awakened by two cops coming down the ladder. A groggy Kimble quickly says that he didn't take anyhting, but the police notice he had a snack. So outside they go. While one of the cops chats Kimble up the other eventually runs Kimbles profile through the computer after the name that he gave them didn't match. Kimble knows that he will be found out and when the officer comes back down the ramp looking intent to cacth him, Kimble takes off and leaps into the water, avioding gunfire from the officers. It seems as though the police force has now sent out all the troops to this tiny area where Kimble is. Hellicopters, boats and offiers walking everywhere. Kimble is seen clinging to a log that is holding up the dock. Just as the scuba divers are entering the water there is a 911 phone call from outside a diner in the town saying that Kimble is there. This call and 2 others are made by a young man by the name of Chuck Brixius (Devon Gummersall). As the police reach the diner, a man comes out somwhat resembling Kimble, but it is not him, the real Dr. Kimble is still in the water. The next time we see our doctor he is coming ashore to the beckoning of his wife Helen. As he gets closer and up onto the shore, the beautiful Helen turns into the worried Chuck. Chuck somehow gets Kimble back to his apartment (his parents guesthouse) and he is next seen resting. Chuck is working out how much it cost him to save Kimble versus how much the city paid to try and find him (which I might add, were some impressive figures). Kimble says he must go so that Chuck doesn't get in trouble, but he is sick and hallucinating from an infection from the barnicles on the log that he was holding on to. Wkile Kimble rests, the police are scouring the town looking for him. Chucks mother comments to her son that the police are checking trunks for Kimble. She doesn't know that he is in her guest house. Kimble has numerous hallucinations of his wife. These are very telling and give a much more human side to the good doctor. He talks with Helen about how sorry he was for stopping to get flowers the day she died, and says that he hates the world that he lives in and wants to be with her. We eventually learn that she 'came back' to say goodbye to him and to add some closure to the night she died. Meanwhile, in the real world, Kimble learns that Chuck is the webmaster for the site Dr.RichardKimble.com (the webmasters are always the good guys huh...). Kimble quickly gives Chuck the passport ID of the one armed man and Chuck promptly posts it on the web-site. Up until this point Lt. Gerard can be found on vacation trying to mend his ailing family life in Wisconson. That is until he finds a newpaper story that leads him to chek up on the Kimble search. He eventually gets on to Chucks web-site and finds the passort photo. Gerard (to his wifes much dissaproval) takes off to find the owner of the website because he deduced that there was only one way he could have gotten that photo. By this time Kimble is somewhat recovered from his sickness and is ready to leave. Once more there is a knock at Chucks door, but its not his mother this time, its Gerard, in the flesh. Kimble promptly tries to get out of the bathroom where he was hiding, and after much arguement with the painted-shut window, he makes it out just before Gerard walks in. Kimble is back on the road, but not before he had gotten a sighting of the one armed man from the photo on Chucks web-site, and some cash, a password and an e-mail address where he can be found. Bits and Pieces: -I loved this episode -Is it really that easy to get a bag of anti-biotics on line? -It seemed really strange to see Kimble showing emotion like in the last scene with his wife...I guess were just so accoustomed to the "I'm a bad-ass and I'll get away" Kimble -I got a definate drowned-rat feeling watching Kimble in the water...maybe its the haircut -One would think that they would at least leave a FEW cops at the docks, huh? -I give Gerards family life about another 2 months -The woman who played the lady that hit Kimble with her car was horrible! -Chuck has too much time on his hands (although I shouldn't talk) -on a similar Chuck note, I hope we find out what the deal is with him! My Personal Favorite Line: Chucks Mother "...they even checked my trunk" Chuck "Was he there?" |
