Fundy Northern Lomax Lumber Modules |
The front of the Acme Machine Shop - "The Best Place to Have Your Acme Machined". The public would not normally see this side when the modules are on display. |
The public side of the machine shop. I had built another detailed machine shop that was a complete structure, with a removable roof. It was awkward to show people the interior, so this one was built as if it was sliced through the middle - the "real world" ends right here. It is located on the front of the module so visitors can look right inside. The hanging lights actually work, but don't put out much light, so a larger bulb was hidden in the roof trusses. The front of the module has a protective Plexiglass front to keep inquiring fingers out. |
All of the machinery is from kits, Durango Press, Detail Associates, etc. It is supposedly powered by an electric motor in the upper right that operates the overhead belt system. Can you see the company cat in the photo? |
The left side of the machine shop. The structure was scratchbuilt from stripwood. Wiring for the overhead lights is within the hollow truss members. |
