ScornGrain - Demo 2002

This demo has been recorded in the beginning of 2002 so alot has happened since but I still wanted to review this, cause it's good. Scorngrain brings forth an unnamed (Demo 2002) 3-song demo with exellent futuristic cyberthrashmetal. This band is influenced by many types of metal. It includes heavy riffing in the vein of Fear Factory combined with black metal like screaming vocals and a whole lot of industrial elements. The sounds and the production in general is quite good compared to many other demos, but I would like the drumsound to be tighter so the whole music would kick even more ass. One little thing that irritates me is the phone loop in the third song Step Aside. What's the idea behind that phone ringing in the background? Scorngrain recently signed a record deal with finnish Dynamic Art Records. No wonder!! Can't wait to get my hands on the debut album.
